This video is useless, it cuts way too fast between the demos and the operator, so I have no idea what is going on or how it actually looks. Especially when the demo and the operator are displayed at the same time faded on top of each other
I've seen a few complaints on here that SIGGRAPH is turning into E3. To those I say, get over it. I don't know much about SIGGRAPH, but it's clear that each year, there is a section devoted to real-time, interactive computer graphics, which are primarily used for gaming.
wow! damn! :D I can't wait for the tesselation in directx11 to be implemented into graphic cards (there's only one from ati I think at the moment) and mainstream games to use this! it will be the end of life on earth! :D social life, that is...
@mat967 I do know, but 1) it seems to me that most the game industry is very conservative when it comes to make use of the new technical advancement that are presented in papers published but SIGGRAPH and the likes,2) I am really surprised how this presentation of SIGGRAPH 2010 is making you feel this is more of a show a la E3 than a technical reunion of the great mind behind the latest advancement of graphics in the computing world. But then for the second part, may I was just fantasizing. ;)

This was 2009, not 2010.

I'm pretty sure Crysis 2 looks a bit more realistic than this, and that's completely real time.
