jim didn't actually want to do Sesame Street b/c he didn't want to be known for doing kids stuff and not taken seriously. also where did he get the elephant for Time Piece
Cookie Monster with COOKIES! Oh how I miss those days! Now it is Cookie Monster who has been FORCED to eat veggies and fruit and that cookies are a 'sometimes' food.
Jim would of rolled in his grave when Cookie had changed.
6:52-7:37 Sooooooooooooooooooooooo cute. I look back in time and just think about how much telvison has changed. These are the shows that shaped the childhood of almost everyone of us. Nothing will ever compare agt what Jim Henson created. His works changed childhood tv soo much. His Talent brought along those favorite show like bear and the big blue house and the Wubulous World of Dr Suess and Sesame street. Thanks Jim for everything. 22 years gone but not forgoten. :)
@toadenk it just looks like "behind the scenes" footage. Jim's clearly visible on the screen at @1:47 & the other person has a weird glove on his/her hand
If they make a movie in Hollywood about Jim Henson, they'll sure to include infidelity, drug addiction, communist plots, and child abuse (and maybe enterprising spirit). If they make a documentary film in the US, they'll just show muppets having enterprising spirit. If they make a documentary film in the UK, they'll just show how nice and innovative he was. So I'll vote for the UK version, with some enterprising spirit.
RIP Jim henson! We thank you for the following shows.Sesame StreetMuppet BabiesFraggle RockThe muppet showMuppet TonightGod Bless you for those shows. u forgot to mention dark crystal , labyrinth , storyteller ,and couple other movies he did props 4
Jim Henson was without doubt the greatest and most influential entertainer who ever lived. His work forever lives on within the eyes of his children, whether they be the first generation who saw Sam and Friends to now.
Because of this Jim Hensons Creations have encompassed the World and no one has ever brought such a level of warmth and humanity.
P.S. At 0:41 you can clearly see Dave (Who Performs Gonzo) Goelz's arms.
When i about 4 I fell in love with Rowfe when he was on the Jimmy Dean show. I even had a toy puppy dog i named rowfe....I was in love with a muppet and didnt even know it yet
4:45 - Normally I would encourage artists of all kinds to evolve in their medium so that they might avoid becoming a one-trick-pony, but maybe Henson was wise to stick with the Muppets. *lol*
Keep me in the loop of The Now; is Cookie Monster still a raging cookie-phile, or did the P.C. Police succeed in making him eat more healthily?
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! the little girl singing the alphabet w/ kermit, the "cookie monster!" laughing moments---I REMEMBER THAT!!!! and the rhyme game! oh! and the singing with the Zulu guys---PRICELESS! oh, i regressed back about 20 years just then..!
"Yeah, well, I've got a dream too. But it's about singing and dancing and making people happy. That's the kind of dream that gets better the more people you share it with."
Love their reactions to word "pupet" I vaugly remember this- I think I was 8 when it was on... too bad we no longer have the presence of many of the characters shown.,... Thanx for posting
What a lovely thing to post. It's nice people that never really knew Jims work are still so very touched by his legacy. Don't be ashamed of that my friend. :D
To this day I still think of Doc Hopper when I see frog legs on a menu. And I refuse to order them. RIP Jim, you're still loved by millions for all you've given to the world.
