  • My Irish great great grandfather who fought in the war would have been proud of this portrayal......looooove the tune as well. Powerful, celtic, and emotional

  • A lot of Union men were Irish, whilst a lot of their foes were Scots-Irish, kind of similar to to-day.

That kind of history runs deep, deeper then America has been in existence

  • @cosmictimes Actually there were just as many pure Irish fighting for the Confederacy as for the union. I had Family on both sides of the Civil War (all of them Irish). Some fought for the Union's 69th Irish Brigade, and Others fought for the 16th Texas Calvary. It was a war that divided families, it wasn't something as simple as the Union won so they were the good guys.

  • Also, my previous reply wasn't meant to offend your post just brought that thought to mind.

  • I've been to the Noble Cooley Drum Company! So neat! (it was before this viedo was on exhibition so I have to plan another trip!)

  • We are pleased that the Noble Cooley Drum Company in Granville, Massachusetts, makers of quality drums since the Civil War , has chosen this song and video for their museum exhibition.- Watershops Studio

  • Nice work Joe! Always enjoy my bandmate's music...maybe its time for us to write another celtic tune?- Eva Cappelli (Eva Cappelli & The Watershops Band)

  • This is an excellent tribute to the men who fought for the Union. Their heroism forever cemented their claim as Americans! Thanks for remembering their service and for celebrating this important aspect of Irish American history and culture

  • We really appreciate Michael Konig for performing on this video. He was in the middle of a grueling two day recording session for Eva Cappelli and the Watershops Band and agreed to play drums for this instrumental by Joe Carvalho. This was what the piece needed to get the right "feel" for this music video. We look forward to working with him on many projects in the future. Watershops Studio, Springfield, MA.

  • This instrumental was originally part of my "Celtica" CD in 2007. I was lucky enough to entice Michael Konig former drummer of the Monterey Jack band (I also played guitar for that band in the early 1990s) to play drums on this piece so that it could work with this particular video. As a history professor, he also brought a wonderful historical approach to the music itself. Thanks Mike! - Joe Carvalho, lead guitarist, Eva Cappelli & The Watershops Band
