  • was he smokin a doobie there? can't say as i blame him.

  • Great video , great channel !

  • You gotta respect america- they are not just killing innocent people in other countries, they also kill innocent americans too! So at least their violence and stupidity is universal- which is fair enough.

Oh...and Ms. Gilchrist did to these people what hundreds of white prosecutors and so called experts have done to hundreds of black people that still sit in jail today...so i don't think she did much wrong!

  • she should have spent some time behind bars to realize what it is like. Joy gilcrest should be fucking in huntsville or plunsky unit. Let her feel what its like to be on death row. Fucking cunt!

  • HE SHOULD BE PAID MILLIONS OF DOLLERS AND IM NOT SURE IF THATS FAIR 22 YEARS LOSED WOW BECAUSE OF A LAZY PICE OF SHIT THE LAW IS FUCKED UP IM A DAD THATS TAKEING FULL TIME CARE OF MY KIDS BECAUSE THERE MOTHER IS A FUCKUP IN MANY WAYS AND EVEN THOUGH SHE DOSENT HAVE THE KIDS THE COURTS STILL FAVORS ALOT OF SHIT THAT SHE ASKES FOR FROM THE COURTS AND THAY ALLOW TO PAY ONLY $25 A WEEK FOR EACH KID WHEN SHE HAD THEM I GAVE HER $150 A WEEK SO I WILL BE FIGHTING THIS UNTILL THING ARE FAIR ITS F.B.S

  • (cont.)good reliable and accurate forensics and end up convicting based on perforated circumstantial evidence. i just hope the criminal justice system can get it together. we dont want any serial killers, rapists, pervs, etc. 2 go free.

  • The U.S. Supreme court has just made it harder and harder for innocent people 2 win their fight for the freedom. Joyce Gilchrists not the only forensic scientist who has done or who continue to do this. they're putting a black-eye on forensics and dont even care. As long as they get their 15mins. To hell w/ u being sent to jail or death row. To hell w/u if they pull the switch, light ur ass up, or give u liquid death. JG and friends dont care that their mess may cause jurors 2 discount(cont.)

  • Has anyone noticed when the prosecution loses a case, a controversial/high profile case, they'll twist the judgement around by saying, " THEY DIDNT FIND HIM/HER INNOCENT, THEY JUST FOUND HIM/HER NOT GUILTY. THERES A DIFFERENCE"-LOL(sigh)Boy, are they a trip! I like this DA from Dallas. Like his ethics, honesty and integrity. Hes not just about putting someone away, hes about putting the RIGHT ones away and getting the innocent out. JUSTICE. there needs to be more like him. wish there were more.

  • its funny that al jazeera put this on youtube criticizing american justice when the justice of the middle east is: not wearing head dress, DEATH! sleeping with a man out of wedlock, DEATH!!! walking outside unattended, DEATH by stoning, forget lethal injection. talk about wrongful deaths here

  • @ejgerver hahahahaha!!

  • Thank God am not an american citizen. Praise the Lord whooooooooweeeee!!!!!!!

  • I hope Joyce Gilchrist and those involved die a slow painful death.

  • This documentary made me cry.How does it feel like to be responsible for messing someone's life because you want to be popular? How do you sleep at night?

  • i believe in the death penalty for misdemeanors as well, also for not voting of obama, our emperor and living god...

  • @1973mazdarx4coupe I see what you did there.

  • I believe Mr. Skinner, and I hope he gets the help to get him out. Tragic this human culture.

  • Now this black guy was excellent. That's the type of DA we need in every county, every state and throughout the whole country. I cannot fathom the pain it must have been for that father who was KILLED by the statefor a crime he didn't commit. All those involved with that MURDER should have been prosecuted and NEVER allowed to hold public or security offices again.

  • Fuck screwed up America where rotten prosecutors carrier have more meaning than the lifes of innocents people!!

  • @mitkoman and exactly how wondrous, impartial and amazing is Bulgaria's legal system? inquiring minds want to know...

  • @ihatekoolaid14 stop spending all your time behind the keyboard and go get a real life!!

Where you from??I guess you never left the ghetto!!Go get educated and see how people from other cultures live you ignorant brainwashed moron!

  • sorry to the families. can you imagine the hell this putsa family thru. thanks to the law firm that took the case.

  • @kistershi There is so much corruption in this country...you are right on.

  • you people need to understand how the government works.Joyce Gilcrest! is 1 of many people that do these things. if they want you locked up they'll get you locked up. they pay people to do what Joyce Gilcrest did.

  • incompetent DA's punishment is getting "fired" that's all?? you gotta kidding me

  • big up craig watkins!!!!

  • I like this guy! (First Guy)hes right, if something points toward innocence at all it should be examined. After all we are innocent until proven guilty!

  • Guilty until proven innocent? WTF?

  • 4:17 what! they didnt do a DNA test? All that evidence and instead of testing it they give this man a Death Sentence. WTF? What do they mean if hes found Factually not guilty he still cant get off death row. That sounds like they just dont wanna admit a mistake!

    Fuck This system!

  • @scumgod13 Cant someone whose innocent and convicted, like the guy who did 22 years, cant he sue the state. He should be a millionaire able to do anything he wants. He should never have another worry!

  • idk about Skinner. He could be lying then again he could be telling the truth. That's a DAMN shame!!!! innocent ppl placed in Jail for 22 years OMG. That guy kinda made me almost tear up. His whole life gone now he's just a middle aged guy without any direction.

  • prosecutors making mistakes that costs a persons life or all his freedom in that life, said prosecutor should not just be fired, they should be locked up. Legs sawed off and stuck up his/her ass too. It'll make a comfy jailhouse cane-seat, since prisons are very cramped, and there might be a shortage of chairs.

Also, texas has to harsh sentences, it should be shipped of and put out to sea as floating island of meathead 'justice'-people.

  • america your role in the world stinks.

  • I was so pleased when I heard Joyce Gilchrist was fired - I doubt she feels shame - but at least she won't be able to do that to anyone else again.

  • The Justice System is so quick to close a case they lie and cheat to get what they want.

  • Dead Hank was guilty. Period. Do the testing, whatever. Guilty.

  • Not sure about this Skinner character. However, refusing to perform DNA analysis is anti science. It's simply absurd to ignore it

  • whats with the aljeseaza logo at the end?

  • Corvallis... Medium sized town in OR right Keith? I'm in tiny Astoria OR

  • Before anyone starts buying in to Skinner's BS, this man RESISTED DNA TESTING AT HIS OWN TRIAL. There is only one reason for a defendant to do that-DNA would have shown he was guilty. He only wants DNA testing now to stay his execution and give him a few more years of life.

  • @mst3k4evur I THOUGHT THE SAME THING

  • @mst3k4evur Actually, he asked for the DNA testing. His attorney didn't want it done. Skinner also asked for a new attorney but wasn't granted one.

  • @DL849

Once again, no he did not. He only asked for further DNA testing AFTER his conviction. Requests like this rest with the defendant, not the attorney. The only DNA testing requested at trial was requested by the DA, which confirmed the presence of his and the victims' blood on his clothing and hands.

  • @mst3k4evur And here is the flaw in your assumption - "The only DNA testing requested AT TRIAL..." Hank wanted the DNA testing. He's always wanted it. Whether or not that is evident in the trial transcripts is moot.

  • @DL849

It's not moot and he didn't always want it. He refused it at trial when it could most hurt or aid him. Why else would he have done it unless he feared it would further implicate him? Allowing him to demand it now after refusing it at trial only serves to keep him alive and stay his execution for years.

  • I'm! from! Dallas! I'll! never! live! in! that! peace! of! shit! state! again! I'm! now! living! in! out! here! in! Corvallis!, Oregon!

  • Lawyers standing in the way of Science and DNA evidence. While potentially innocent men are caged. 2,500,000 million American People or 1% of people in prisons. More than any country in the world percentage wise and absolute number wise. What kind of disgusting and backwards country is this?

  • plum up! idiot

  • I have a really hard time listening to McCarty whine. Janelle Fowler was 7 years old when she was raped and beaten to death with a baseball bat. McCarty drove around with her body in his trunk and then hid her body for weeks before telling the police where she was in exchange for his freedom and testimony against his partner. He was also convicted of raping a 14 year old girl in a brutal assault. His continued whining insults Janelle's memory.

  • I'm sorry to hear that.

  • @JusticeforJanelle WOW...THATS DEEPRESSING

  • Depressing

  • fired?? she should be jailed

  • yeah gods too bad oj didnt live in texas

  • guilty until proven innocent

  • Death sentences should only be allowed when there's concrete evidence that a specific person did it.

  • Surprise surprise !! Women can be fucked up too...

  • Poor guy.

**Hey man, if ya ever wanna burn one, hit me up. I'll buy you a beer too.**

  • the interviewer asks " so what have you lost ?" ?????

jesus , is it just me that despairs at such a stupid question , to a man having been imprisoned wrongly for over 20 years !!!

  • All those liars ought to immediately be sentenced to life behind bars, or death row, depending on where their lies sent an innocent person.

  • @godsfiddler Absolutely, especially that Joyce woman, she should go to death row. She committed murder by taking away innocent peoples lives.

  • @mejustjeri dumb ass question, once as an old lady watched her home burn down a reporter asked "how do you feel?" not as serious of coourse but just as fucking stupid.

  • @bitemypillow LOL THAT REPORTER WAS STUPID...NOT REALLY A REPORTER DIDNT HAVE MUCH TO SAY..JUST THE FIRST DUMB THING THAT CAME TO HIS OR HER MIND

  • I hope Ms Gilchrist sleeps well at night!

  • I enjoy watching the AlJazeera English videos. I wish you did not have to subscribe to cable television or watch them on an internet or satellite TV.

I like that Al Jazeera English shows another view point. I do not see them scewed left or right - - - I find the information pretty much "as is". I also like BBC II (BBC 2). Louis Theroux has some interesting shows as well.

  • i like how he smiles as he ses he lost it all..thats a strong guy

  • Joyce Gilcrest .....WOMAN ARE YOU NUTS?????

I don't care if she's black, white or purple - they should put you under the prison. OMG

  • that black girl should be put to jail for the rest of her life instead...22 wasted years...WTF??!

  • she should be put in a male prison? Lmao

  • WAT A CROCK.

  • Why wasn't Joyce Gilcrest charged with pergury? If she falsified evidence to convict innocent people, she should be in prison!

  • That fucking bitch should be sentenced to 57 consecutive life sentences in solitary confinement. That fucking nigger slut.

  • In my opinion, if an overzealous DA or police investigator sends and innocent man to death row and he's executed despite knowing they were innocent, they should be tried for premeditated murder. IF they are on death row and exonerated, they should be tried for attempted murder. If they're jailed, try them for kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment. If these bastards knew THEY were responsible for their lies, then maybe this wouldn't happen.

  • I AGREE WITH baserocklove 100%

    READ WHAT he/she WROTE ABOVE.

IT BASICALLY SAYS DO ONTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD WANT DONE ONTO YOU!

  • @baserocklove I'm from Canada, in the U.S. most,, if not all prosecutors have immunity from civil prosecution. I'm not sure if they have immunity from criminal prosecution though. The prosecutors in Canada don't have immunity, but they can try u probably as many times as they want to. In the U.S. i'm sure you 've heard of " double jeopardy" where they can only try u once. From what I've seen on this program the prosecutors + gov + civil wittnesses are psycopaths nothing different than Canada

  • @Kilooscarromeo because these morally corrupt bastards exsist at all levels of society, i've learnt to protect myself + others by recording all conversations with all Gov Depts + police. I also have a very small video cam. Some people would say i'm being paranoid, not at all, buy it is unfortunate that 1 must do this. I've had my experiences and i'm sure you have also. I'm going to state some advice to all "it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it".

  • @Kilooscarromeo given this these idiots will try to have it thrown out of court if a situation arose because of privacy issues or rules of evidence. I say what can be more of truth than the truth itself. Todays tech makes it easer than ever. I've even told some levels of society that they could very well be monitored ,you should see the look on their faces i would say, 1 of immediate fear if you are doing nothing wrong what would 1 have to fear 1 wouldn't even know unless you make it known or

  • @Kilooscarromeo communicate it through some other form of medium.I know that as soon as someone is aware their demeaner changes. It works on all levels! Yes there are liars in society! Without voice + video it usually comes down to testing 1 persons word against another. Evidence can be interpreted by 1's perception but a fact is a fact.1 only needs to talk with some of these victims and to learn what would have been useful in determining their innocence. 22 years on death row for a crime 1

  • @Kilooscarromeo didn't commit is horrorifing really i can't even imagine how 1 would ever cope while being threatened with death 24/7 + after 1 is found to be innocent and been conspired against by the system that is supposed to protect people horrible, horrible, horrible. Those that try to make this world a worser place than it is don't take a holiday. They should be hunted + eliminated swiftly. I understand your anger but i'm not going to let this issue fill me with hatered.

  • @baserocklove i agree with you 100%

  • @baserocklove good idea.

  • @baserocklove i wonder how DA sleeps at night

  • Honey i've got better things to do

  • Such as making useless comments on a tv interactive website? ;-)

  • DL you need to quit watching too much csi and law&order and get a job :o)

  • I didn't get my facts from CSI or Law & Order, if that's what you're implying. I've mentioned in another comment you can find legal docs online if you care to look for yourself.

  • There is no American Justice. There never was. Sometimes, they get lucky and get their man, but all too often, as evidenced here, the innocent go down in order to feed egos, careers, and public demand. We still have lynch mobs, only nowadays they're educated, they dress better, and they're protected by the very laws that they break under oath.

  • kolacz is a fucking idiot

  • The boot for clowns.

  • and a book for ingnorant minds

  • , , , and a platform for hatred, as I suppose you're in support for the nimrod Kolacz123's comment as books have nothing to do with it.

  • I dont see how that comment sugests that am in support of that, but if you got to comment guess you need something to say.

  • Fuck you Joyce Gilcrest!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll burn in hell.

  • I know Hank Skinner personally, he is 110% innocent, and if people took time to read up on his case they will see that. Unless you know the facts, best not make yourself look a fool eh? YES it takes a foreign company to show the truth in the US penal system!

  • pretty sketchy crime scene though...they killed everyone but him? why not him?why risk a witness?

  • Common sense would say, they left him alive to take the fall as he has!

  • or common semse could say it was a planned murder-suicide with a last minute change of heart (interms of the suicide), hense the poorly thought out story. Having someone take the fall who could potentially ID you doesn't make as much sense as simply killing the guy. Dont tell M.C. TRZ bout common sense fucker!

  • If you relied on facts instead of your "common sense", your comment would sound a little less snarky.

  • I live in the same town that Heath Skinner killed those ppl. I know some of the family of the woman and her kids that he killed. Her sons dieing words was to let the next door neighbor know that Heath Skinner was the one who has killed his mother and his brother and attacked(and eventually killed)him. This man is a monster. And he deserves to die!

  • Your a piece of shit no one is should be killed like that or you are as bad as the murderer and i dont think he did it u pos.

  • Who is Heath? Seriously, for as much as you claim to know about him and his actions, you could at least spell his name right.

  • Enlighten us with your proof of Twila's son's "dying words", please.

Police interviews with the neighbor indicate he never regained consciousness. He never spoke a word to the neighbor who found him. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that his "dying words" were to Hank, himself, after he helped him off the couch and out of the house.

  • So fairness and accuracy within the justice system is anti-American now? You are a right-wing moron.

  • Fairness and accuracy within the justice system are very very important. If you think that is what Aljazeera is concerned about, then you are a Left-wing moron.

  • Yeah, let's just hold our breathe and wait for Fox News to do this story.

  • For the record, Al-Jazeera English was set up and is funded by AMERICA! A lot of the reporters are Americans or from WESTERN EUROPE, not ARABS! Don't confuse the two!

The reporter in this story is an AMERICAN!!!

  • you are wasting your time miyamotonrt, some people here are just eyes closed.

  • Really with all this evidence you say they have agianst him, then tell me WHY is he finally getting his appeal?? If there was enough substantial evedince against him he would more than likly be dead already and wouldn't have fought so long and finally gotten one! There is something missing and something wrong with the intire case! If they had that much on him they wouldn't be giving it to him!! It would have been done and over years AGO!

  • its the c.i.a or f.b.i What do this, currupt world, currupt government

  • Comment removed

  • Again, not true. Read Dr. William Shields' affidavit on the DNA analysis of the hairs. You can find them on the internet if you do a quick search for "hank skinner dna". Get your information from legal source documents, not just trial dialogue or wikipedia.

  • lol I have to say, on the face of it (being asleep while people are being butchered around you) I can understand why they would assume he was guilty lol

However, it should be done properly, even if you think they might get away with it if you don't fabricate proof.

  • You'd be "asleep" too if you had as much codeine and alcohol in your system. Unfortunately, too many things weren't "done properly" in Hank's case.

  • I have done some research on it and his son has explaind the whole thing, and shown me the reports on it. There aer two sides to every story of every situation. From what I have been told and what I was shown, no I don't think he did it. No one truely knows except for him, but I will leave it at the fact theres two sides to everything, and I for one believe he may be inocent.

  • Sorry, guys but you've been had once again by the media. My aunt was married to this son of a B, and now lives in fear of her life. He has told her he will do to her what he did to Twila if he ever finds her again. This piece of crap truly deserves to die. Do a bit more research instead of relying on liberal "injustice" sites. The trial evidence & transcripts are available for those who really want to know the truth.

  • Comment removed

  • Why on earth would you think the "trial evidence and transcripts" hold the truth? Are you really that ignorant as to how the criminal "justice" system works?

Not everyone on here is "relying on liberal injustice sites." In fact, I'd encourage you and anyone reading this to do some of your own research. There are plenty of legal docs available online about his case. An overwhelming amount of evidence displaying his innocence is out there.

  • Couldnt the defence demand testing of the fingernail scrapings?? Surely authorities photographed the suspect after the event -- DID he have any scratch wounds from fingernails?? This is mindboggling!

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • Of course he was inspected after the event. No he didn't have any scratch wounds or defensive wounds. He was not a threat to the perp because he was comatose. He did have a cut on his hand because he fell as he was leaving the house & landed on some broken glass.

  • Laws are written by the rich, for the rich. Simple as that. And remember the Golden Rule: "Ye who holds the gold, makes the rules."

  • This is rediculouse, this system in this sate is out ragiouse. Just because they do not want to face facts that they messed up and accused the wrong man for murder they still have him faceing death. I know Hank Skinner has got to be inocent, come on, there as no actuall substantul evedence against, they didn't do DNA or anything. I am friends with his son and I am in full support of Hank Skinner and getting this reversed!!!

  • Where's the source of your proof? Instead of coming in here shouting "get a clue" and "don't believe what the media tells you" why not provide us with your source of info on the subject. I don't trust the media much personally, but I trust someone who starts mouthing off at people and not backing up what they say with evidence much less. You sound like a fucking idiot, no offense lol

  • I have DONE research on it!! I know what the case has on it! You mouth off way to much dude! For real why don't you start shoving out the info that you have!! Instead of running of at the mouth! I was not spouting off ignorant comments! I know whats been done, and I know what is his side of the story! Now back off people JERK!! We are all intitled to an opinion! WE will all find out now soonre or later!

  • Where are you getting the idea that they tested "all the blood"? They didn't. And just because some of the blood at a crime scene matches one person does not indicate unquestionable guilt. Do a little more reliable research before making a fool of yourself.

  • Fuck the System!!

  • What the hell!!! If someone is innocent, and on death row, you get them out of there!!! I hope, that evidence is tested soon.

  • 'Scuse me, but the evidence WAS tested - just not every drop. DNA testing showed her blood all over him AND his hair in her bloody fist as she tore it out of his head as she died. But the liberals crying "injustice" don't want you to hear about THAT. He confessed to my aunt (his former wife) & threatened to do the same to her if she ever told. Now she lives in hiding & prays he never gets released. Don't believe everything the media throws at you.

  • Comment removed

  • Several things are wrong with what you're saying/implying. Her blood was on him because he was in the same room she was when beaten. He fell as he was leaving the room & I'd bet some blood was transferred onto him then, too. None of the hairs in her hand(s) matched his DNA at all. A simple google search will lead you to legal documents on that -- read them for yourself. He never "confessed" to your aunt, he merely stated he kicked her (tripped over her) and knew she was dead...

  • ... and I sincerely doubt he "threatened to do the same to her if she ever told." If that's the truth, why did your aunt recant her original testimony at the risk of being penalized, herself, for perjury? If she "lives in hiding & prays he never gets released" (which I doubt is true) perhaps it's because she lied in her original testimony?? As the state's "star witness" I'd imagine she felt guilty for helping condemn an innocent man with her false testimony.

  • Think everyone in prison had a fair trial and is guilty? Think again! I was shocked to find out how many cases are just like this one! The woman who lied about the lab reports and sent innocent people to prison, what damage does she suffer? Just losing her job? What about the lives she destroyed by lying and what about the real killers who are still free because of her? Sometimes the worst criminal is the one on the other side of the prison door!!

  • if you find this injustice particularly interesting - and eye-opening, you should really read the book by angela davis called "are prisons obselete?" . .. it's amazing - and sheds light on the decades of discrimination within the prison system . .

.. just thought you might be interested :)

  • What an absolute disgrace the criminal justice boards are.Even in England they're a laughable joke.

  • great story..........Al Jassera you are the best thing going.

  • The deathrow cases get all the attention but the life sentences can be just as tragic even though the media find them less dramatic.
