The violence and blood actually gives this game a touch of "realism", unlike most games where they just throw violence at you to shock and awe. You're normally so into fighting the zombies that you aren't thinking about bloody dismemberment, it's just a side product of playing.

Guys, stop making a fuss... there are currently at least two ways to get rid of this pointless and frankly stupid censor. The first is for those of you with the Steam version of the game, and requires locating and editing the steamappid of the game to that of the L4D2 demo.

The second works on both retail and non, and is frankly the better option, as with the first you cannot play with people who are playing the censored version.

It's an exe which patches the game to gore, named left4uncut.exe
