I prefer the original Medusa WAY better. She's more frightening, more hideous to look at, and she seems more... "Real". It's terrifying. The new CGI Medusa moves around pretty smoothly like a serpent, but she's just... Good looking.

I had nightmares as a kid from the 1981 version of Medusa. I think one of the scariest things about that Medusa is that she was more snake than human. She didn't have a human voice and just made snake noises.

I will tell you this, the new Medusa chasing them is scary and I did like the last part when she grabbed the "dude" (lol) or whatever in the end of this. Did not see the new movie yet, but the first Medusa, '81 was much more horrible. In that I mean fucking great! Some things money cant buy, or in this case, re-invent.

Another movie sexed-up for the summer crowds and ruined in the process. Its not a bad scene.. as scenes go, but does it compare with the creepy atmosphere of the original Clash/Medusa scene? A resounding NO. Will I be still watching THIS scene in 30yrs time? NO. This movie is a classic example of.. less is MORE.. (which is a shame because I was looking forward to it)

@pirague Um one, eww and two, there are a lot of differant versions of the myth. Sometimes it goes that she was so beautiful that that is the reason the men turned to stone. And that when Perseus went to kill her that he hesitated because she was too pretty...so ya. There are differant ways the myth goes.....

@GothicBlood1996 Too beautiful? That's the first I've heard of that version. However, you are right that the myth isn't clear cut. Some say, and this isn't BS, that it is her "expression" that turns people to stone, and not her "scary" face. That's actually how it was in the original COTT. This remake makes no attempt to correct the inaccuracies of the original. The true myth of Perseus is not only different, but the story of Medusa is different as well. COTT makes no mention of her two sisters
