That lady in the purple dress was the smartest person I ever met. If I remember correctly her last name was X and not like Malcom X but due to some "Ellis Island" like name mix-up they ended up with the last name X. I beat her and the other lady because I was just slightly quicker on the buzzer. They even had to bring out the computer read-out during the commercials to show I was getting to the buzzer just a nanosecond before her. Loads of fun!!
Yes I am the guy with the beard. I ended up winning this show. It was show #3 of the series and Wink Martindale was amazing. He did everything in one take. He never made a mistake the whole day I was taping!
Trivial Pursuit is slated to comeback in the fall in syndication. The new host will be Mark L. Wahlberg from Shop Til You Drop and Russian Roulette. What I'm wondering is who owns the show now? The Family Channel is now ABC Family, so would Disney be the owner?
Well most of the original programs from The Family Channel including That's My Dog and Trivial Pursuit are NOT owned by Disney, they are owned by 20th Century Fox Television which includes Shopping Spree, Wait 'til you Have Kids and It Takes Two w/Dick Clark which were produced by Mary Tyler Moore's MTM Enterprises.
Actually, 20th Century Fox Television owns the rights to Trivial Pursuit w/Wink Martindale as well as FAM Interactive Game Shows such as Shuffle, Boggle and Jumble.
and so, 20th Century Fox owns the rights to Trivial Pursuit, not Disney.
Mark L. Walberg will not make it to host of "Trivial Pursuit" because of his success of FOX's lie game show "The Moment of Truth". Christopher Knight will officially host this show.
This was such a wonderful show. It was my after school activity back in the day. I loved it alot. The music was very relaxing. During the interactive part, I would usually just guess the answer. Man, I really miss this show.
I am the guy with the beard in this clip. The girls talked about shopping and I was telling Wink I thought I was going to get sick. It was fun though.
Man...that brought back a lot of memories, mainly summer 1993. This was actually a fun little show. The only thing is that I think they focused a little too much on the interactive qualifier, which was the main focus of the Family Channel's game show lineup at the time. Little known fact: there were plans to syndicate the show in fall-1994, but they fell through.
i'll tell u i never really liked the set for this show, although a picture of the set that they used 4 the pilot can be found on the box of the home version of this (in case ur wondering it's "Trivial Pursuit Game show") the set for the pilot well from what i saw anyway is a lot better than the 1 they used 4 the actual show
This isn't the true ending, this was only the conclusion of the preliminary rounds where the faster you are comming up with a correct answer gave you more points and the three highest scoring players played the second half which was the actual non-interactive REAL show. The first half was only for maximizing the amount of playbreaks on Family Channel IMHO.
i don't like what GSN has done with their line-up, i wish we would be able to hear the ending credits but nooooo... they have to be idiots and put up stupid commercials for their shows that aren't that hot
I was overnighting in Havre, MT about 13 years ago and I saw an episode of this show. Since I live in Canada and didn't receive satellite at the time, I only saw that one episode. I would love to see this show again if someone rebroadcasts it
It was a great, but highly underrated show. And if you join his Yahoo! group, more Trivial Pursuit material can be found, as well as two Net game shows, including Trivial Pursuit: The Classic Game, and Boggle: The Interactive Game.
This is the Trivial Pursuit Game Show i remember. It should be on GSN.

the ending music is good, shame it didn't last so long in the UK.

I kinda liked the orange lights in the studio, I think they were prior to the green ones. Though I also liked the green lights as well.

You're kidding me?! Since ABC & Disney are partners I would say yes.

Unfortunately, Debar-Mercury has reconsidered. Christopher Knight will host. BTW, Debar-Mercury owns the show (at least the new version).

Yeah, kinda sucks that Mark L. Walberg won't be hosting. I can see it now.
And here's the star of Trivial Pursuit, Peter Brady.

I've always wondered what contestants and the host talk about at the end of the show.
JimmySand9 5 years ago
I'm glad you asked! I thought no one would ever ask that. my mother once told me that they talk about jokes.

Personally, I thought they'd just BS with him.

By the way, "Trivial Pursuit" ran from June 1993 to June 1995 on the Family Channel.

You should know that this version on the Family Channel was only two seasons before it got canceled!

i wish they'd put this show on GSN, but all GSN puts on now is crap so... i don't imagine this show will be on there anytime soon

I sent them an e-mail about ideas for more shows on GSN, including this show, and they like those ideas if I have more.
