people are forgetting the v6 is much lighter then the stock gt. And if they both have similar HP the v6 will take in a straight line. kinda like two people running the same speed only one of them has an extra 200 to 300 hundred pounds to move. Seems like a physics question to me ;) regardless fords are badass cars! Only if FORD had something in their line up to catch the GTR V6!
hi, i am trying to get a supercharger for mine, and i'm quite serious, but i have a few questions because mine is auto transmission. first of all what do i do about the fuel injectors, and then how would i go about tuning it? because no where seems to have a full kit, and there really isnt a whole lot of information out there.
if you could help me out it would be greatly appreciated!
@yz250fmaster2 You would have to get a dyno tune done. I'm not very familiar with fuel injectors though, sorry, so I can't help you with that. If you have any questions regarding tuning, feel free to PM me.
I just installed a procharger last week with 7 psi boost and got 460 at the rear wheels. I just ordered the 3.85" pulley to get 9.5 psi. I already got more hp than a stock V8, going for 500 hp.
Well I can agree with you on preferences, but I think it is more about end goals. Blown 6 is fun and slaps most 8s. Blown 8s take it a step higher.@ohioborn post video proof otherwise I call bs. And a 30k gt is stripped .
sccdean .....yeh sure you can buy a 5.0 and have near that stock (412) and yeh sure you can drop roughly the same cash and same type of mods and yeh you can put a 5.0 to 800+ hp and yep you can start off it all by dropping $5k + to start the whole process.... then again you could crank out 65k on the gt 500 and even up it more lol anyone asking why do this to a v6 has never driven or owned eather and do not understand the bragging involved when your 8 gets 6 slapped.
@tntracingtodd I understand what you are saying. But I paid less then 30K for my 5.0. Have less then 5k in it engine wise and it just ran faster then the fastest V6. My car just went 11.4. All motor no boost. We have been looking at a V6 for the wife though.

Sure theres guys that will tune the 6 to power levels like a bolt on GT, and there will be guys that blow the 5.0 and make it a monster. Everyone will have different opinions. Personally i would rather have a bolt on 5.0 making 400rwhp than a blown (and bolt on judging by this car) V6 making similar power because it leaves the door open down the road for a monster 5.0

Well, 5th gear in the auto is not 1:1, there is no 1:1 gear in the auto, 4th gear is as close as there is at 1.143:1 and 5th is .867:1.
Maybe your boost gauge is wrong or you have a connector leak, same pulley on the development car made more boost, you might want to find out what's up with that.
Things that would be helpful to know: 1) This car is an automatic, the other procharged car has a manual transmission (auto will make less power) 2) At this point the dyno pulls are happening in 3rd - 1.69:1 The car is under development, when we are ready to make a final dyno hit a pull will be made in 5th gear - 1:1 3) Procharger sent a 4" pulley, it makes 5psi, it is what it is. 4) We have a smaller 3.8" pulley that we will be installing after track testing.
How come you only got 5 psi out of it? The developement car got 8 psi and 429 RWHP with the open filter. Then he swapped pulley's and added a full Bassani headers, x-pipe and cat-back exhaust and made 461 RWHP at 9 psi.
Another guy with a procharged 2011 v6 puts down 461 at the wheels.Like 550 at the crank! These are awesome v6's! Gonna need alot of mods on a 5.0 to match that.
