Again, another fine bit of evidence that opera is not obsolete :-) This is just lovely. The ecstatic climax is gorgeous, as is someone recommended, the Dharma at Big Sur for six-string electric violin an orchestra. Thanks for this great link!
i assure u when he dies his music will become twice as famous and personaly this and the death of kilofingher are the tw operas i like from him the other ones not so much
How the hell do you stumble across this video if you don't know what it is?
Also, this is very listenable and I don't understand why you can't see this as music. I can understand you not liking it, but not acknowledging this as music is just ignorant and childish. You obviously have a lot to learn....well, you're probably an ignoramus (reading your comments lol) so good luck with that!
I was looking up flowering trees. Real flowering trees around the time of earth day.
You dare call me an ignoramus! I am probably one of the top 1,000 most intelligent people on the planet. You assumption that all smart people like the same music as you isn't very intelligent!
LOL!!! Top 1,000 eh? You know there are over 4 billion on the planet right?! Also I didn't make that assumption (if you actually read what I wrote) which is evident when I said "I can understand you not liking it", meaning exactly what it says.
Also, do you think the "top 1,000 most intelligent people on the planet" would do something as trivial and meaningless as leaving youtube comments? Get over yourself.
Great! I have a webcast of this work but this seems even a better recording. I really like how Adams is evolving his style into something totally new in every aspect. I have tickets for his Miami premiere of Dr Atomic Symphony, and I hope to be able to talk to him and ask: "WHEN ARE WE GOING TO HAVE OFFICIAL RECORDINGS OF YOUR LAST TWO OPERAS??" hehe... Please I want the libretto!!

Trolling John Adams compositions? Well played. Internet douchery knows no bounds.

One of the few truly exciting composers on the contemporary "classical" (what a misnomer) music scene.

At last! I can't wait for the full recording...I've resorted to listening to 'Nixon in China' over and over again.
