  • 5:00

  • froo shawn tay

  • i love this nice and slow :D

  • its much easier to bend from the 17th fret instead of doing that crazy bend, otherwise you'll just have to keep tuning ur b string every time you play the solo

  • Thanks a lot!

    :)

    nice lesson

  • cheers :)

  • tried to do the double tone bend on my acoustic.... didnt turn out well

  • i cant do bending that can reach two whole notes, like on this adlib., im using .10..

is there some tips for the set up of my guitar or anything that can help me bend two whole notes..thanks

  • why is the strumming so important?

  • @Kamelot19 .... do you play guitar?

  • @Kamelot19 why is playing music important?

  • i would be nowhere without lessons like this all the tabs ive seen have been wrong thank you soo much and i noticed your fingernails do u play classical guitar? : )

  • Hi, thank you very much for all your guitar lessons. It´s very kind of you to do this.

  • By the way, if double tone bend is too hard for you, you can do one tone bend at 17th fret

  • Awesome!! Finally some cool song to practice my high chord skills.

  • can anyone help me with the amp settings? i cant seem to get that twangy funky sound. i've just bought a Boss ME-25 but am still trying to get to grips with it.

    thanks.

  • @JustChasingRainbows its more about the single coils rather than the amp settings... try putting more mid range without too much bass

  • @JustChasingRainbows hey man! how are you doing? I'm in doubt between the BOSS ME-25 and the Digitech RP-255.... do you know which is better?

  • I think it's great that you explain to us here free! The world needs more people like you! Greetings from Germany!

  • thanks man your a fucking sound guy i can tell, awesome video very helpful!

  • Nice vid, but one question. When you switch from the G-bar to the D chord, how do you play that D chord? is it like this? :

    --X

    --O

    --O

    --7

    --5

    --X

  • @Vingalinga its an A-Shape D Bar Chord, played:

    X

    5

    7

    7

    7

    5

  • sorry im a newbie but at the chorus part where G then D ?? is it 5fret on the A string and 7 fret on D string ?

    thanks

  • Love this reggae part ;)

  • dude you are more or less a god :) lol

  • thank you it helps me very much

  • Perfect Tutorial 20/20

In french would be better for me ^^

  • Hey! Love your tutorials, very helpful and understandable. Thank you

  • On the bridge, if you're not comfortable with all those chords, you can just play the triads (the three high strings (ebg) of each chord) and it sound almost the same.

  • one thing he didn't say is you need to have reverb to sound like the song

  • you´re totally great man!

  • thanx man i found this reallt helpful :)

  • damnit. you just HAD to plug your website so then i couldn't learn the bar chords didn't you?

  • @helpmeexpressmyself Hes playing them infront of you, you should be able to figure them out

  • shit. cut my fingers on the solo

  • Awesome lesson right up till the solo, you didn't say what frets you were using...is it 15 or 12??? And is it the B or G string???

  • You can hear that if you have your guitar infront of you. It's the 15'th fret on the B strin. Bending it to sound like fret 17 and next fret 19 (pain in the fingers!!) and then back to fret 12.

  • excellent thank you

  • great stuff bro

  • its a good video but ut not firciadi jhon frizante lol

  • you are a very sympathic person ;)

  • @immeluschi symphatic isnt a word.

  • you`re awesome, ive been playing since 4 months and i can play sweet child o mine (without the main and last solo) but with the little solos before the choruses

  • thanks, ya solos are really hard, takes a lot of practice. sweet child o mine is a great song too by the way.

  • the intro is great! lol

    and is so easy

  • Justin, thanks for taking the time to put all these videos online as well as the website. It´s all very helpful man, appreciate it =D

  • *.* thx for the great lesson *.*

  • Can anyone tell me the tuning for this song?

  • I'm pretty sure it's standard

  • Alright thanks.

  • yep it is

  • solo... solo... solo... solo... XD

  • hey

First ! i love your guitar playing....

I have a question. i have some problems to become the chili peppers sound. i have a strat, boss gt8 and a good fender amp...... can you tell me some sound setups....?? because i don't know what effects john frusciante use, too..... maybe you can tell me what for soundsetups you use to become the frusciante sound..... Thanks..... i hope you can help me

  • John Frusciante usually uses a Marshall Major, and a Silver Jubilee, but you CAN still get his tone without those huge amp heads. Try using D'ardio gauges .010-.046 strings, they help a lot. For tone setup, I'd set your gain at about 5-6, middle 5-8, treble 8, or 4-6 with a higher presence setting. Just experiment with a lil higher gain tone, and you'll get it. :D

  • thank you for this great lesson ! gooooo justin ( nice guitar ) keep going

  • Dude your the best of the best!

  • You are great!!!!!!!!Keep it up!!!!!!!

  • mean bending there

  • its gonna take me a while to get use to the wierd c chord

  • jedi left hand please sir -wtf?? good lesson though

  • jedi is the famous man behind the camera, he films justin and whenever justin wants to do a closeup of the left hand he tells jedi :)

  • Ha..that's pretty funny..cheers, thank you for nyc!

  • how can i get that sound? i keep messing with my amp and changing the settings trying to get that Can't Stop sound but everytime i just "Can't" get it!

    plz help? plzzz.....lol

  • invest in some pedals

  • lol yeah that's probably a good idea.

i actually found the sound for the most part. i wasn't playing it right somehow.lol

  • lol yea, pedals are awesome aha. once you start buying them, you wont want to stop hah

  • can't stop, addicted to the pedals!

sry that was really lame, but i had to

  • haha yea that was gay. but there are gayer things in this world ha

  • hahaha!

  • awesome helped me a lot may i recomend doing another one for snow

  • men you are the best

  • ok, so ive notice that when john plays the intro and verses, he strums all the way through, and he mutes what he doesn't want to hear. i was wondering if u had any suggestions, cuz ill try muting strings, and it just wont sound right, or ill mess up somewhere else. idk, it probably just comes down to practice, but if u have any tips, that would be great.

    thanks!

great videos by the way (haha get it) that was stupid sorry. they really help.

  • i have had the same problem man. but i'm really familiar with playing barre chords and i just hold my index fingers over all the strings and fret with the other 3 fingers. it takes some practice too, i've almost gotten it all the way down. :)

  • yay! u actually spelled barre right. sry, it annoys me when people spell it wrong.

anyways, thanks for the advice. ive tried it different ways, but this sounds the best. im just gonna have to keep at it. its wicked hard tho.

    thanks a bunch!

  • lol i know what you mean. i always get annoyed when people get the strings mixed and called the 6th one (low E) the

    1st string instead.

  • haha, yea. just cuz its "on the top" does not mean it is first. i mean, i understand the beginner guitarist, but when you've got a year or so under ur belt, its ridiculous. haha

  • ty but im dutch and i dont know wich chords i need to play in the chorus plz help

  • justin..!!!! you are amazing....!

    very fucking usefull

  • that is so tight

  • How do I get my amp to sound like this? Mine sounds ok but this seems to sound more... I dunno.. clean? I have mine on the clean settings but it still sounds different

  • i think he has a chorus effect on. if your amp dosent have chorus buy a chorus pedal if you have the money.
