shame she´s with Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand, maybe cuz both bands abbreviate FF, maybe cuz both are Greek, can´t come to terms with that cuz to me the Furnaces are one of the best bands in the world while Franz Ferdinand... well, to stay decent, are not. Defintely she´s one of the people I would like to attend the club when I´m DJing.

saw them live in Dallas last friday and was very let down. the lead singer literally made me want to cut my eye balls. i've never wanted a set to end as bad as that one. as a weekly concert goer, that's saying something. the drummer was the only thing that really got my attention on stage. he was great, but i would never see them again.

Its not all good granted- but there is some very original and very listenable stuff from these two. If its only 25% good, that's still better than the mail-it-in music from most bands out there today.

It's actually better live, for some reason. My GF said it was much better without the extra effects. She was so looking forward hearing songs from the old albums. When will bands learn? The fans pay for hearing songs they've already heard. Not new kvasi shit. =P

i don't think the album version is "whack" at all. this one is more upbeat, sure, but the album version - especially at the beginning of the 3rd verse - is much more dense and rich. plus the lyrical frustration seems more evident on the album version.
