In my Never Humble Opinion, there was a period of general awfulness extending from the late '50s up until the "First British Invasion" in 1964 -- "The Year of the Beatles, the Year of the Stones" as Paul Simon later described it. Don't hold me to exact years, but earlier '50s songs were good.
@roundtheblock1 Dunno. I really like Elvis, buddy holly, and Everly Bros. I wasn't born then so I have no idea what the general climate for music was, but I think there's cool stuff in every era. But it def can't compare to the 60's though!
Remember this on Radio Luxenberg around 59, whilst scrubbing up in the fish and chip shop: was seventeen at the time. Usually around 2300 hours, then off to Baltonsborough for a pint. Happy days.
