There is such a thing as an American accent. For example, look up Hugh Laurie (He's the guy that plays Dr. House on HOUSE). In the show he has an American accent, but in real life he has a heavier English accent. Most commercials & music videos are dubbed. They do the audio first and then the video and sync them, so most of the time its the editors who mess the sync up to make it look bad. But it very well can be his voice-- it is very possible for him to sing/speak English without his accent.
