Ice hockey is a not-sport the same way WWF wrestling is a not-sport. Its entertaining watching gorillas paw at each other, but hardly a contest of skill. The moment those gloves coming off becomes an expected part of the game it becomes a spectacle, not a sport.

@Mittau weird, i played hockey, soccer since i was a kid and still play in the summers for conditioning, and varsity football and was offered a scholarship to play university football which i instead took hockey over. nowhere was the passion, emotion, and anger on the field ever what it boiled up to be in hockey. theres scrums after nearly every whistle. in football its a rare occurrence. theres stick work, non stop checking, and loads of beaking...

@Mittau look up ESPN's hardest sports to play. hockey is #2 on that list. right behind boxing. you play grass hockey which is not even close to real hockey because you cant fucking skate and you live in a wannabe united states. i play hockey with 50 yearold shoulder pads on because of fighting. youre on skates, with rubber pucks going 100mph, razor sharp blades, with hitting at highspeeds and boards, on ice, and you wonder why theres padding yea that makes alot of fucking sense
