American music is Haram because they're using they're life in it. We have something different.What our music is, is about Allah (SWT) and Prophet Muhammad.
As far as i'm aware music is haram and was a tool created by the devil to reach out to people. In fact it is said that every time we listen to music it blackens our heart. What was haram in the prophet's time is haram in our time for we are still in the same Ummah. However whether this music is haram is another matter which I am not educated enough to say whether it is and i'm sure neither are any of you.

As this relates to whether or not music is haram; I think what should be at least considered here is that, Allah through his wisdom has made music an inborn part of certain peoples such as, African Americans, African, Native Americans, etc. Allah has given different core tendencies, strengths and so forth to each ethnic group. Many Afican Americans such as myself was drawn to Islam through this core connection we as a group was born with! Subhannalah!

what realy matters is the intention behind the music, i see it's ok to use the music as an attractive way to bring people to listening but of course without a distracting backgroung instrumentals, so we don't get distracted from the words
and if someone can listen to a speech without the need of music,,it's way way better and may Allah reward him for his strength,,but that doesn't mean to consider Native Deen as kuffar ,, our deen must b easy not extream especialy for the non-muslims out there

You know..successful change is always a slow change in stages..when Islam prohibited alcohol it was done in 3 stages before Allah said 'Its Haraam'' these sort of songs are a good alternative to music, so its ok to listen to it and Insha Allah and Insha Allah we improve till Quran becomes the only most pleasing thing to our ears..Islam is easy brothers and sisters its not hard at all.
