I don't understand your comment completely. What do you mean with 'once the puck is off the stick'? This is useful when you know no-one is on your outside, or to get someone to commit to trying to hit you, then you can flick forward or move the puck under your body to beat them.

A defender flat on the bottom could smash this guy.. Once the puck is off the stick he effectively has no more reach left.
