  • @loannisGPetrakis . Fascinating observation. I had missed it.

  • @joelwagnerpiano ...what ever good music..still wanna put it in her ffffffffff damn

  • @TIJTG took a viagra?

  • @joelwagnerpiano you worthless little fucking worm i hope you die in a car accident

  • ffffffffffffffffssshhhhit ....god damn..so fucking hot..wanna ffffucking...god daamnn...she's an attractive woman is suppose..FUCK!

  • She is the niece of the Prime Minister, randomness?

now the piano competition hav lose the sense.

  • Very good

  • I'm not yawning. I'm not yawning. Very hard to play and well done. Recording obviously does not capture the moment to it's fullest. Every time a Chopin piece is played it is always different. I could listen to this piece for eternity and she did a good job.

  • AhaBach4Life: Are you tone deaf or just an unlistening clod? The Yamaha, which I DO NOT prefer to the Steinway is in perfect A 440 pitch!

  • Yamaha? Piano is grossly out of tune. Totally inexcusable. Some nice passages. Overall yawn.

  • @AhaBach4Life The piano is clearly in tune and I must disagree further--the performance was quite good, not one that would elicit a "yawn" from audience members. Bravo to Ms. Avdeeva!

  • good job, well done. though its chopin's personal favorite ballade out of the 4, its nonetheless a nasty one. it sounds simple, but anyone who played/prepared this piece seriously knows what im talking about here.

  • She played that awkward passage from 2:20 to 2:26 correctly. What a relief ! Most interpretations I have heard slur the notes to camouflage the difficulty. Yulianna did play it fast, but articulated each note clearly. What a massive talent !

  • @ungava100 im sorry but perhaps you hear too many noobs playing ballade 1.

  • @ungava100 I totally agree. The same applies to passage 5:31 to 5:32 where two of the melody notes EbDCBb do not coincide with the beats and in many performances are not stressed. Her interpretation is wonderful, she didnt win the chopin competition 2010 by chance...

  • Sorry, where is the Steinway & Sons?

  • She cannot manage YMAHA well. I still think her technique to be unripe.

  • Her dress is like BEAUTY AND THE BEAST D: !

  • Am I the only won thinks someone should be fired for not tuning the piano?

  • @mdlayt64 no not fire,,, SHOOT!!!!!!!!!

  • @mdlayt64 Send him back to piano technicians' school in any event. I've been fighting that for 30 years. European tuners stretch the octaves to the point where if you're hands are more than 3 octaves apart, you're playing almost in two different keys. Late Beethoven sounds like quarter-tone music. Then they needle the be-jesus out of the hammers (to enable bad pianists to sound "brilliant") which accounts for that honky-tonk sound. Pity, because Yamaha concert grands are SUPERB instruments.

  • Good and frequent use of rubato, very clean and clear like D colour diamond

  • Her performance would have sounded better had better recording been used. Shame it wasn't though, she plays very passionately.

  • Wow, She is wearing a new dress.

  • A perfect performance!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOL does anyone notice that she's dressed like Belle from Beauty and The Beast?

  • I love you

    SAM's AREA

  • Why does she change from dress to suit?

  • Yulianna sabía que 2010 era suyo... Gracias Maestra!!! Gran lección de pefecta disciplina, arte e ideas.

  • Yulianna has come a long way since this video!

  • She has a great sense of bringing about melodies: both main and side melodic lines.

  • Greatly played!

Someone started to clap at 7.02? ;)

  • @gonrolgonrol I wouldn't even expect the piece to end there. Weird people.

  • @katchum Yes I know! :) But I think this happens in some concerts where people don't know the melody so well.

  • Спасибо Юля за то, что вы делаете! И поздравляем с победой в Варшаве! Мы гордимся Вами!

  • Lack of sensitivity!! The sound she made in some parts is just ugly. Where is the singing tone???

  • @mathandmusic1 man she won the internaional chopin piano competition... you definitively dont know what you are talking about

  • @mathandmusic1 If you're referring to sensitivity in regards to dynamics, keep in mind that this isn't a professional recording. Low quality microphones can't really accurately capture the true sound of a piano...

  • wow, que energía que le pone esta chica, me ha encantado guapa te felicito

  • I would like to hear her play on Steinway.

  • She has an amazing time fluency.

  • She„used YAMAHApiano. Nice choice…andƒbeutiful‰sound. Very‡good.

  • My IQ goes up 20 points every time I listen to Chopin. Then I just had to scroll down, and saw some of these comments, and back down to idiotville I went.

  • that's a competition, and what the jury think is only an opinion, not the truth.

  • @newFranzFerencLiszt

To be fair, it's a pretty prestigious thing to win the International Chopin Competition.

It was won by pollini, argerich, zimerman and yundi li, all amazing pianists, so it's not really 'just' a competition.

  • @Aryamanable yes it is

  • @newFranzFerencLiszt after all its the opinion closest to the truth.

  • @newFranzFerencLiszt Well yes it's a jury, but it's also a jury that happens to contain several of the best musicians alive today... I think their opinion matters a lot more than some youtuber's...

  • @mwu42251 actually the opinions of youtubers does matter because we are the ones who are going to buy (or not) her cd's,and go/not go to her concerts.

  • @nousernamewhatsoever the reason i say that the opinions of YOUTUBERS doesn't matter is that sure, the opinion of her audience matters, but I would say that hearing a live performance and hearing a youtube recording are very different experiences... youtube cannot even come close to capturing the essence of classical music. I listen to recordings on the internet purely for academic studying of interpretations. usually fame on youtube comes from fame in real life, not the other way around.

  • Have you ever heard of a rubato? I doubt it. You exert yourself to be an expert on tempo in music but your knowledge of music is very poor. Remember that Chopin often used a rubato or the practice of playing with expressive and rhythmic freedom. And Avdeeva made a wonderful use of that practice in her rendition of Chopin Ballade No. 1. So you’d better keep silent and not make fun of yourself.

  • The tempo of this piece was totally ignored. It cannot tie the composition. It doesnt maks sense at all. JUNK!!!

  • I can't believe she won. This is like played by amateur. What a huge mistake!!

    Khozyainov should be the winner

  • @terrygowork

I think that you must see the video of the Chopin piano competition. She played very well!!!Big personality and beautiful sound!!

  • She may be an interesting interpreter but how can one know, with this ugly sound? It's possible she didn't have another choice of piano here, but whyever choose a Yamahaha if there is any other? It's simply criminal to allow these plastic boxes onto a classical stage, and the lasting damage to the next generations' idea of true sonority is incalculable. Another nail in the coffin of Classic.

  • Sie spielt fantastisch. Ich kann nicht aufhören Ihr zu lauschen.

  • The predictable winner would have been Wunder, he is what all those Polish critics wanted Chopin's music to sound like, you know, like Zimmerman. I'm happy the jurors didn't fall into that trap this time, choosing a performer with a keen sense of originality and expressiveness. Bravo Yulianna!

  • Congrats to her.Beautiful,sensitive.

  • A good, competent performance. There was some fire, which proves she has an uncommon talent. Still, I'm not ready to class her among the greats yet. I wasn't swept away.

  • I really loved Presto con fuoco, simply beautiful.

  • won the 16th international chopin competition <3

  • The arrogant Yulianna Avdeeva. This is not sincere playing.

  • @happyboy86 Silly remark. How can such simple, straightforward playing be classed as insincere? Lovely, original sound.

  • @happyboy86 Arrogant?...Maybe..but why?...

  • I 'm listening Yulianna at the Chpin Piano competition; Big personality and beautiful sound, I hope that she wins!!

  • @cleo31able And she won ^^

  • @cleo31able

She didn't deserve to win... she is not a genius, Wunder is.

  • @michieldpiano I think she's a wonderful pianist but I prefer the Austrian candidate, who won the gold metal.

  • @Ellinidara

Ingulf Wunder is a genius with a lot of potential, he still needs some maturity in his playing but for me he is the winner without doubt.

  • @michieldpiano Totally agree with you.

  • brava!! you are so original and sensitive! i'm studying this ballad just now, so, even your exibition isn't technically perfect, i'll take it as a landmark for mine! (excuse for my bad english, but i'm italian) Brava once again :D

  • its true...i never thought about it like that.

    but...that's not me.

  • WELL DONE!!!

(p.s. I love your dress! it reminds me a lot of belle's dress from the disney movie "beauty and the beast") :D

  • lol!
