Because the private sector will always aim to maximize their own gain at the cost of the public sector, having controlling power over the means of production means they will always have leverage in regulatory policies as they can reduce any first world employee to the compensation standards of the worlds lowest workers and be justified for it. So isn't what happening now (and for the past century), inevitable?

Despite the rules they had to follow, I doubt the businessmen of 1940-1979 would claim they were anything BUT capitalists working in a capitalist market. And yet our present system does not resemble the parameters they worked within. All governments set up the rules of engagement for the free market. Always have, always will. Since the PEOPLE are the government, we get to decide the rules for the market.
