  • I really like chinese cities. The endless high rises, the nice parks. But the only thing I don't like is the repetative mid-rises sometimes.

  • now !CQ changes more ,but the most can't stand is the hot weather

  • Nasty river .. please tell me that's just sedimentation

  • love CQ, my home, my place.

  • It would be great if the water was clear!

  • @kc50cent yea it would be. but the brown color is not all pollution, it is mud.

  • @kc50cent, the water of the yangtze river cannot be clear, the river has a nickname of being the yellow river. while the water flows through the river beddings of the yangtze it pulls off claylike material that is called loess into the water, that is what gives the river it's muddy yellow color. also this loess material gives the surrounding areas of the river its higly rich soil which is very fertil and is best fit for agriculteral use.

  • I want to go

  • I've been there 6 times and I've never seen it as clear as this film shows. CQ needs to clean up its infrastructure, sewer, water, waste removal system to be on the level of the modern cities of China and the World. Also the traffic is so bad but I know they are trying to improve. Do these basic improvements and CQ will be a proud city for all the world to see. Good luck CQ government

  • @goldfingerly go to Beijing, see the traffic and sky

  • @goldfingerly go to Beijing, see the traffic and sky there

  • chongqing sucks !

Shenzhen is the way more better.

  • @alexyubyebye chongqing is very dirty.FOR SURE

  • when will the 2011 version be coming out?

  • This video was made several years ago.Now Chongqing is more beatiful.Hahaha!

  • Chongqing is getting better :) GO CHINA

  • that's looks nice :)

  • people talk a lot about Dubai but this looks also impressive

  • It looks like New York

  • fake photoshoped!

  • @vastheaven it is real!!!

  • WOW! It blows my mind that this ONE CITY has a larger population the all of Australia and New Zealand combined!

Also I love the cheesy 1980's music!

  • Holy shit they built this in 15 years.

  • CQ rocks!!!!!!!

  • Very beautiful city.

  • Very impressive

  • I was in Chongqing Feb 2010 and was impressed with the lights at night.

  • i really miss CQ!

  • you are not alone! I just wonder if it has changed much since last time I was there...

  • its def not as clean as it shows here in this video

  • says you who has never been to China.

  • Agreed. :) Almost stepped into some puke while in CQ, China. Ick. :P

  • Agreed. I was there in Dec 2009 til Jan 2010. And I almost stepped into some's puke. :(

  • sssssss

  • Hehe, I love CQ, but the sky in the movie is clearly photoshoped =)

  • yup, I wonder why they didn't photoshop the water as well

  • The sky is not photoshopped. I was there in CQ in Dec and took an elevator that looks out on the skyline to the top floor of a hotel in the CBD. ANd it sure was blue at the very top above the smog.

  • Haha, cool vid, I love Chongqing, but the sky is never that blue, if you know what i mean ;-)

  • wow is this Manhattan

  • actually your right, they use their river as a sewage. ive read it in a science magazine!

  • the water countains minerals, thats wy has that colour, also sewagw can be like evrywere

  • and poop. i know it said chongqing in that magazine

  • yes its polution, but i'm guite schour that the colour of the vater is because of minerals and microorganism that live in the water and that helps grov plants and other stuff.

  • Don't forget the color comes from the sediment that gets stirred up from the bottom of the river around Chongqing! :)

  • Beautiful music.

  • Chongqing the next New York

  • Chongqing is already beyond new your, has like 10million more people

  • Already is. 31 million people living there and growing!

  • yeah

the night view must be the best on earth

    even as good as HK's

  • we all love chongqing, the mountain, the river and the pepole,as chongqing hostel, eileen is so happy to introduce chongqing to more pepole.welcome to chongqing.

  • Hello, Eileen! It's Joe. Good to see you on YouTube.

  • really,the world is really small,haha chinish.

how r u?ilike chongqing,it looks more beautiful because of this video

  • Big City

    Big Country

    Big Chongqing

    Big China

    VIVA

  • for your info... this video was filmed in 2004... you just can't imagine how much it has changed after 4 years. yes the city is getting modernized and i hope the people can get modernized as well.

  • Still not as good as Chengdu

  • then u must be from chengdu. hahaz! c'mon what is this? little jealousy?

  • the helicopter sucks, thu the city itself really rocks!

    Go China!

  • Thanks for praising Chongqing. Yeah, it sure is a nice city!

  • You're welcome!I love Chongqing!I had been living there for four years.

  • Very nice city monorail. I wish we had it in my city. ;D

  • Great helicopter maneuverability and awesome pilot.

Remember this city was once a debris thanks to Japanese bombing in WW II!

  • fuck Japanese!

  • @tobeornot00 how is this video have to do with japanese?

  • hi, i aint chinese, but iam certainly cool

  • what happen to the water?? It is orange.

  • one is orange and one is green, both due to natural erosion, but the rivers' origins are different. they flow thru different parts of china with different land composition.

  • is that river the yellow river?... because if it is that would explain why its yellow... b/c of yellow sand

  • no it is the Yangtze River. You probably know it because of the Three Gorges Dam.

  • if the river is another kind of color in the summer, the people of Chongqing will be scared........that means half of China has not walter blood......

because the water is this kind of orange from thousand of years ago......

  • and this video was taken back 2005, chongqing looks very different now, have your next vacation trip planned for chongqing!! except summer, it's like 40C there lol

  • but the summer's night view is the best of all the years.........

  • we are telling the world, we are different now!

  • yeah. already beats chicago.

  • yea i know... in india this would probably be the most modern, large city... india has no cities at all, i researched... they do, but there are no skyscrpers and nothing that can compare with china...

  • what the fuck? why is my commment -6 you guys retarded or something?

what my comment means is i saw part of that college town and it already looked amazing like a small city you guys get it?

i mean impressive dont mark my comment down

  • Chongqing looks very impressive. One of the worlds best skylines! Greetings from the UK

  • Parts 3-6 of this program are also on Youtube. They are definitely worth watching. Hopefully they will make another one of these programs soon, because Chongqing has changed a lot since 2005.

  • I love Chongqing!!!

  • I LOVE MY HOMETOWN:)

  • where's hilly city?

  • hehe i so proud i am from there~~

  • The city's electric trolleybus network was closed in 2004, otherwise the city would be perfect to me. A hilly city like ChongQing needs trolleybuses on its streets.

  • it's true, but I really don't like the smell in the street. I enjoy having the hotpot of MAIXIANGYUAN.

  • yeah, I miss the electrical trolleybus as well.

  • Chongqing is now the largest city in the world...according to Time Magazine. Wikipedia lists the population as 31.4 million, but that number is a couple of years old. When I was there, our guide told us the population was about 33 million.

  • That's the population of Chongqing Shi, the city only has 4 million.

  • I guess largest municipality would be more accurate. The city proper has about the same population as LA. However, Chongqing's entire metropolitan area is much larger and has more than double the population of the LA metro area. Tokyo and Chongqing have about the same population, but Chongqing is much less dense.

  • Really? I have been staying there for more than 6 years;Chongqing is a lovely city, of course there are lots of beautiful girls

  • i went there in 2004, beautiful city i miss it alot

  • City of Marvel;

    Capital of Dream.

    welcome to chongqing.

more videos about chongqing in my channel

    go ahead check them out!

  • amazing, i went there in 05'. The people were so friendly.

  • The river looks so muddy.

  • it has been like this since one thousand years ago

  • It looks about the same as the Mississippi.

  • Yes Chongqing is very OK!

but the speed of the net is so slow that I can't watch the video.

  • beautiful city

  • Wherever it is, the ppl frm ChongQing always bond together strongly, very united! Most importantly, they love their city, their country the most! ChongQing ppl are hot tempered, direct, humourous, handsome and beautiful...in fact, most of ChongQing ppl are so proud of their unique culture, that they seldom speak Mandrin, even in the local shool context! Although CQ is not so developed yet, they just don't care, they can freely claim that they are ChongQing-ese, in whatever place on the planet

  • This is my hometown i live here i love chongqing 4ever

  • Exhilarating, symphonic, operatic and panoramic!

Quite a contrast to the "Unreported World" report on Chongqing.

Those of you that are so excited may want to realize that this is video of buildings and that the woman singing those exalted notes is not likely a peasant displaced to build all these buildings. I wonder how many are full of middle class workers?

  • Wow! How does the pilot get so close to the buildings!

  • haha, you may find even crazier things going on there! we just love it. enjoy:)

  • At00:12, the heicopter was literally on top of the boaat!

  • Look at the colour of the river. The Chinese will kill us all with their fucking polution and souless materialism

  • fuck! the river has been like that for hundred years becoz of the deserts upstreams. retarted!

  • Most of the investment is from private sector. In order to boost the economy in western China, government did only two things: 1> free some of the restrictions on investment, lower tax rate; 2>. huge investment on infrastructures such as high-way, airport.... most of the skyscrapers you see in the video are private investment.

  • 背景音乐叫什么名字啊?

  • In fact, the peninsula of Chongqing is about the size of Manhattan.

  • From 2:00 to 2:30, Chongqing looks like a deserted city.

  • Hat down to Chongqing with a remarkable history in WWII.

  • Chongqing will be another Shanghai. In another 10-20 yrs, there will be 10 or even 20 Shanghai equivalents in China. By then, China is unstoppable.

  • It was 1984 when I was with a group of international geologists visiting Chongqing for a couple of days. My impression then was that Chongqiang had many bamboo huts in poor neighborhoods. Bamboo was abundant and most often used as construction material. Now, a mere 23 years later, the city has been turned into a concrete jungle. People have been gone from rigs to richs and their place from bamboo huts to Skyscrape forests.

  • Things has changed a lot during these 23 years,Today's china is not the poor and gray country any more

  • Many many poor people in this city, who take care of them

  • 真不敢相信 变化真快

  • Chongqing is awesome...The largest city in China and the fastest growing...Can't wait to see what it will be like in 10 years...Amazing!!!

  • Chongqing is awesome, the skyline ranks the 5th in China, after Hongkong, Shanghai ,Guangzhou ,and Shenzhen :)

  • Is this Main Land China? Where in relationship to HONG KONG?

  • this city located in south west china, has 5th largest skyline in china. very far away from hongkong, but near to tibet.

  • that's in Mainlan China, sure. far away from HOngkong

  • oh my god ! liuguoyu ... you just messed up my video ,and i blocked you .And now,you start to bash here.I am wondering how much your boss paid you for this job?

  • liuguoyu (2 days ago) Marked as spam

i think im saying the truth! skyscrapers dont mean mordnity! check ur income, HK people income each month is 3 times more than ur income for the whole! year! poor is poor, skyscrapers canot cover ur poverty up!

    ----------------------------

Maybe you makes 3 times more, you may spend 5 times more to make a basic living. Simple math, go figure.

  • i think im saying the truth! skyscrapers dont mean mordnity! check ur income, HK people income each month is 3 times more than ur income for the whole! year! poor is poor, skyscrapers canot cover ur poverty up!

  • Omg, please dont make ur hker feel shame....just being advanced a little and u have already closed-minded. i do know how many ppl are same with u in hk

  • 哎哟。。黄色的河好象拉屎 wow.. yellow river or brown muck!!!!

  • Yeah!! Chongqing!!

the location is just like Manhattan!!

  • well, the city is modern and beatiful, but it's pity that the colour of the river is yellow...

China must pay more attention to environmental protection, besides skyscrapers.

  • The river's color is due to the silt (sand).

  • ehm...really nice! the sleeping dragon has awaken!

    the day is coming!haha...

  • omg!!! can't believe my eyes!!! awesome video!!!

  • beautiful! I like this vid!

  • go to the rural part of chongqing and have a look how poor is there! dont be fooled by those ugly bulidings!

  • uh huh? and u seem to have something against poor ppl or developing nations. personally i can claim i am richer than you....but what if i don't have the same mentality? would i have less pride of hk?

  • fuck u!go out dog!

  • I wish I could come bak to CQ

  • I LOVE CHONGQING

  • i miss chongqing, my motherland

  • Wow! Incredible - but the most unreal thing I saw was how crazy the helicopter pilot is!! Haha, nowhere in the US can you get that close to buildings within cities!

  • thank you!

  • Thanks 4 posting!
