  • Great song and lyrics. I shared it on my blog makeitabetterplaceforus.

    Thanks a lot,

    Manuel Filipe Santos.

  • Such a great video

  • I've been listening to this song since I was little and only today did I realize this is the vocalist from Time of the Season by The Zombies.

  • I have always felt that this song goes rapidly downhill at 1:30 (when the harpsichord part ends and the tune shifts gear.

  • @UnseenCaller absolutley right

  • Super beautiful! Thank's guruji

  • Colin Blunstone what a voice what a singer

  • What a beautiful song.

  • This song calls my tears....

  • 10 ppl can't read between the lines. There is still hope

  • I remember singing this song in chorus while I was in high school. It had been running through my head for days. I'm glad you had posted it. I can't believe I had remembered all the words after all of this time! Great song!

  • Face it; this is the only type of thing that could possibly wake up all those poor kids/teens lying wasted in the depths of emo/punk.

Living in the present, dreaming of the future, is our only hope...not fascinated by 1978, not 1996...it's TWO THOUSAND ELEVEN! Wake up! Listen to more Alan Parsons!

  • Onew o fthe most perfect albums ever made, loving the video too, thanks for posting!

  • What else to say.. beautiful interpretation of a beauitufl song

  • soon to be just a memory myself but music like this tells who I was for my four sons.I want them to know what kind of music moved my soul and drove my desire. This is definately one they must hear. Life is so precious, take that from one who let the sands go thru his fingers, forgetting time, too, has an end

  • soon to be just a memory myself but music like this tells who I was for my four sons.I want them to know what kind of music moved my soul and drove my desire. This is definately one they must hear. Life is so precious, take that from one who let the sands go thru his fingers

  • this song is a spiritual feast...is that blunstone on vocals?

  • @prissie44 heard the song many times, but never paid any attention to the lyrics. have to admit, got a lump in my throat. what happened to this kind of thoughtfulness in music, in merely just a few decades? (can you find it anywhere any longer?)

  • timeless piece that Eric captures so well... he will be missed

  • this track is absolutely beautiful

  • Proud we stand One Nation Under God!!!!!!! America is for The Freedom and Liberty of all people of the Planet.

  • Nice video.

  • INCREDIBLE video. Thanks!!!

  • Colin's voice fits the song so well. The visuals and the words are most welcome equally. Thank you!!!

  • Why do the APP songs all have this certain melancholy air about them? or is it just me.....This song in particular get's right into the heart - I associate it with life as it was a few years back when self employed driving many miles each day with mainly APP for company - those were very special days to me and I wish I could recapture them

  • @Decibelz15 it sounds wonderful, where can people go to find a picture like that? For i do believe that our true Creator is the essence of all creation, as a sub-atomic particle known as gluon,His open eyes peer out from our very soul...i misbelieve that He judges on any lines but Truth, all else being only the part of what is not, not the What Is. when troubles come, let your heart not fear, follow the truth in your heart and you will be fine...blessings, }:-

  • the words are wonderful and so is Colin Blunstone's fall...

  • colin blunstone from the zombies on vocals.

  • i don,t have words,this is a magic.so nice music,it is so sorry,there,s no more such of music today....

  • Every time I Pass a Hawk or Eagle on the side of the road I ask them to Bless me. They are God's Watchmen. You get to know them because they are territorial and live in the same place. You can pass by and say "hello". I just hope God can hear me say "Hello" through them.

  • @Hemlat of course He can..All of nature is part of a whole that is one, in a way that doesn't take away from each parts uniqueness....we are IN the Lord, this is the part we don't seem to understand. If He knows the hairs on our heads, surely we are always in His heart and hands

  • from the 1st l ever heard this song, i was young and wild, and not due for this life for long..there were no videos[so we had to see our own dreams in the song.] when l heard the song i loved it, but it wasn't till i heard the words- l knew it was a love song from my Lord, a prayer for my heart, a chance to throw myself into His arms, and feel true LIFE,not the barren survival of a broken hearted soul looking for TRUTH. He saved my life, he opened me up to theSPIRIT of the Lord, and set me free

  • Me gusta mucho la produccion del video. Enorabuena!!

  • This song is ideal for this day. Happy new year !!!

  • I lost my daughter on August 5th...she was only 21. At her memorial at our cottage on lake Michigan we had 4 eagles that stayed with us and flew above us as we scattered her ashes on the lake. The eagle is very symbolic to me...this song is beautiful!! I know she is in Heaven with God, the eagles represented this!!

  • @Alicia69Andrew In 1977 I lost three very good friends in a boating accident. This record was release just before the funeral. Always reminds of those friends. Sorry for your lost.

  • Thank you.

  • Crying....My Brother died. Auto Accident...He was 52...2008 Lead the way BRO.....

  • @dckgb I am sorry for your loss... really... hang on :)

  • I've been an APP fan since '77. This is, and has always been, my favorite song by the group. When I see other videos and read people's comments about how beautiful that song is I always leave a note telling them to listen to this song (or Old and Wise) and then get back to me on what qualifies as a beautiful song. I lost a friend back then to a motorcycle accident, and now can't hear this song without thinking of him. I've told everyone that I want this song played at my funeral.

  • NICE FREAKIN INTERPRETATION!!!!!!! VERY WELL DONE!!!

  • The most beautiful song ever!

  • Comment removed

  • one of their best compositions..simple but so deep...

  • BRILLIANT COMPOSITION

  • I know it gets tiresome to hear but it's true: they don't make music like this anymore.

  • This is Music !! Alan Parsons work fits in to any decade..past and future.

  • @Trapperjohn4077th It is true !!!

  • As a matter of fact who could say which song is the best among so many masterpieces ?

  • To me, this is one of the geatest love songs which has ever been written.

But you can give so many different meanings to the wonderful lyric.

    Ciao

    Fer

  • and i love same old sun as well

  • Simply magnificent !!!!!!

  • my favourite APP song. Is hard to find. Thanks so much.

  • Great artistic work on this wonderful song - thks JoeNeil

  • Haunting. Alan Parsons is brilliant.

  • This song made me weep with emotion... Thank you JOEneil69 and thank you Allan...

  • @opiumivresse i and only the best!!!!!!!!

  • USA!

  • @typecastaaron3

Think again, and look to the ancient symbolism of the Eagle. It's much more than a measly country.

  • I forgot about this one. wow.

  • haunting me for decades.this song has some quality i can't explain.colin blunstone's voice mixed with the synthesizer harpsichord sound just guts me.

  • I'd forgotten the title of this one ..but the points you make are validated. thanks to whomever posted this!

  • Beautiful video!!! Congratulations my friend!!!

  • oooohhhh yyyea soooo sweet!

  • Wonderful song!!!5****

  • Alan Parsons, what can one say? ...and the days of this life are but grains of sand as they fall from your open hand..cherish every day with the ones you love.

  • YemSom- I could't agree more! I've always thought the Dream Within A Dream was the only AP song that affected me that way. Now The Eagle Will Rise Again may have overtaken.

  • Genial-Demassie.

  • absolutely inspiring! :)

  • Sounds like it has a spiritual message to me. Nice song, I like it. :-)

  • Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.

  • This song brings back so many memories, like the memory of my father driving down a country road under the afternoon sun as we listened to this song on the radio i was just a kid but i'll never forget that day, Thanks Alan Parsons for being the soundtrack of a little part of my life

  • This song also provides me a mix of emotions, i feel a little sad because it makes me remember to my father, it also makes me feel fine because it makes me remember how many times i've raised up after falling trying to follow a lost love...

  • @chimango0071 its always those times that make u love a song forever..

driving down somewhere and ur dad putting it on..

  • @koushymama You're right

  • Great voice! Colin Blunstone at his best.

  • When you are with everyone but me, you're with no one. When you are with no one but me, you're with everyone. Instead of being so bound up with everyone be everyone. When you become that many, you're nothing. Empty.

Rumi, mistic poet in the Xl century talking about his talk with god

  • Yes Guys this song its awesom for everyone.Happy or not

  • There are gems throughout the APP catalogue, but I think Pyramid held together best thematically, and this piece makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. Eric Woolfson, RIP

  • I lost few friends in a boat accident in 1978 that is is why this song is v e r y important to me.

  • putain je chiale à chaque fois que j'entends ce morceau ; grandiose

  • And I will easily fall from grace and another will take my place! For the chance to behold your face. Wow these words are so profound and spiritual. I love this album it changed my life in 1978 and solidified my worshipping APP. God Bless you Eric and Alan!

    Let me be the light!

  • Great creation !

  • RIP Eric!!!

  • Two great musicans have left of from this world this year: Eric Woolfson and Kelly Groucutt R.I.P i will miss them both :-(.

  • Rest in peace, Eric Woolfson. One day, indeed the eagle will rise... again.

  • RIP Eric

I've listened to your beautifull voice so many times, thanks you sir!

  • RIP Eric.

  • RIP

    DEP

  • This series of tracks was dubbed the 'Pyramid Trilogy' by our local album rock FM station when it was released over 30 years ago.

The opening of Pyramid is gripping and to this day retains a mystique and untiring musical eloquence.

Pyramid, along with the other albums in the APP library, have the absorbing and satisfying intellectual flavors that will last the lifetime of the discerning listener. It is impossible for my APP CDs to gather dust in my collection while I am still around.

  • This song never gets old, it's Awesome.

  • @Teskue the best!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Teskue Yes, like all the others!! :-)

  • Colin is such an amazing singer!!!!!!!!!!

  • classic parsons ,thank you!

  • The first LP of AAp i bought, and felt in love with this song, and how many times we have played it, in the the parties, just to dance cheeck to cheeck with some girls... but....... never happened!!!!! eh eh eheh. But anyway, a wonderul piece of music, AAP will reise again!

  • Simple oppressed men HAVE to rise again !

    Eagles do it by themselves.

When they get old and blunt and can't hunt anymore ,they retreat-to-death high in the mountains where nobody can find them...they hit the rock until they're old and blunt claws and mouth falls off ,and they wait until nature let it grow on them again.

    PEOPLE have much more RIGHTS!

  • Wonderful song.

This is the music I loved when I was 15, and time only makes this music to be better.

  • I´ll dedicate this song to another friend of mine who died in a boat accident. R.I.P Eki

  • A song of great inspiration. One of AP's best pieces. To be listened to with heart and mind.

  • It is great to hear this beautiful song many years later... This is real music and the lyrics are wonderful. Now, this song, reflects my present feelings. Thanks for sharing !!!!

  • If you want to listen real music, you must go back at least 30 years. This song is an example

  • The Eagle will rise again

  • ça fait toujours quelquechose d'entendre ce morceau, ça vous donne 30 ans de moins d'un coup....

  • dur pour moi d'imaginer car j'ai 18 ans

    ! xD j'"Adore cette chanson !

  • Two of my good friends died in a boating accident 1977. That´s why this particular song is so meaningful for me.

  • The lead singer in this APP song is, according to the following-Colin Blunstone,

The 3rd album of the Alan Parsons Project, Pyramid, is certainly one of their best.. This release lives up to their reputation as a "prog lite" band. One of the most successful guest vocalists that they have used over the years is Colin Blunstone, and on this album he sings the gorgeous acoustic ballad, "The Eagle Will Rise Again", surely one of the best songs in their long career. (courtesy of Google).

  • Very well done video .

  • Gorgeous song. What memories it has for me. "And, with no warning, no last goodbye"- the love of my life left me. Why is it that men leave?

  • I thought that it was the women who

    usually leave ?

  • Excellent video for this illuminating song... thank you!

  • Beautiful song.

  • Real great and emotional song, very impressive!

  • great video and great singing by Colin Blunstone!

  • The chorus is pure heaven.

  • Never seen them on stage, any good dvd one can suggest

  • They actually never performed live, except couple of times in 90's.

  • i have both alan parson project double greatest cd's and both best of cd's 1 & 2.wonderful selection of songs.great song i wonder if alan parson still performs.

  • Great song!!!

  • Pyramid, one of my all time favorite APP recordings.Incredible story telling.Thank you for the video!

  • I absolutely love this cut. Your artistry is incredible. Thank you for posting such a lovely song. My Favorites...

  • Super morceau une fois de temps en temps ça fait du bien

  • I love the main theme (would you call it a riff? I'm not sure what to call it), it almost reminds me of "Valley of the Mind's Eye" by Thomas Dolby, which, if you like APP type stuff, I'm guessing you'd like that song. :)

  • this is very very beautiful! thank you so much for posting it.

    all the best

    x

  • The BEST !

  • i listen this song for first time at 11 o 14 years. Now i´m 30ager.But is the mostest spiritual ?¿rock song-trance-etc..?¿

    yes i feel this...

  • I still listen to this on 8 track once in a while on a old sony deck, tape has a soft and natural sound that goes with this music ,screw the ipods, give me the the inconvieniance of older sound reproduction with big speakers

  • Beatiful song, one APP's best; on each record they had the one romatic song with a similar musical structure of a minor scale change (Time, Old and Wise, The one in Paradise) but this one's exceptional

  • Hi Fretliner! I completely agree with you! This song is one of the best of the entire APP's discography, and Colin Blunstone's voice is outstanding. 5 stars for the music, 5 stars for singing and 5 stars for the lyrics: the result is 15 STARS...

  • Yes, the Eagle Will Rise AGAIN !!!

  • correction, it was 1977.

  • Beautiful song. I bought this album new in 1979.

Thanks for posting this. I think it is the best fan made video of AP music!

  • Bought this lp in 1977. I lost two good friends in a boating accident that year. This song always reminds me of those friends and funerals. Great song.

Alan Parsons is far too underestimated group.

    Do they still tour?

  • I bought this album when it came out....I think it's called Pyramid. This is why I bought the album. It's amazing.

  • Teachers of teachers, musicians of clinic I am charmed with this musical group in quite his aspects

  • This song is wonderful and it means something different to everyone. Religious people might see it as a declaration of adoration for god, people in love might see it as a pure declaration of love to their special one, spiritual people might see it as homage to Destiny...for me, it´s a song expressing my worship for Edgar Allan Poe. A very personal song, and that´s beautiful.

  • I like it so much !

  • Super cool j'adore

  • i liked this video :)

  • I love the APP songs that feature Lenny Z on vocals...

  • it's funny..I never thought of this song as religious..to me it's a love song to a woman, and I am a pastor. Go figure. I've loved this song forever!
