I can very much relate to this song.. Most of us if not all of us, go through this, where we have a person in our life that we try so hard to change, or want to change, but we find out that it would impossible to change a person so deep in what he/she is doing. And it makes you upset that you can't change a person with so much potential in them due to Drug abuse, alcahol abuse, etc.
@Fuzz1438 I had an ex boyfriend, who was very much into drugs.. I am only 14 and he is 14 as well. and has been doing drugs for the past two years.. And you push these people to stop doing drugs and telling them it will only hurt them, in the near future.. But you find out that no matter how hard you try to tell them to stop it won't make a difference.. Which is really upsetting.. And he tells me "Oh i'll stop just for you" or Just "I'll stop" but he never does.. Addictions are addictions..

And he's been clean of drugs and alcohol for more than six years, not while he was with Katy like Travie was? It's about how his addiction was holding her back, and she couldn't take it any more, it never says that anyone that has ever had an addiction is terrible?

Wow, I think it's good she got it off her chest. Being in a relationship where the partner is constantly getting high and you're not - in many ways you become the care taker and it's not about love it's about mothering the sick, and it's stressful I can imagine. I can very much relate to this song.. Most of us if not all of us, go through this, where we have a person in our life that we try so hard to change, or want to change, but we find out that it would impossible to change a person so deep in what he/she is doing. And it makes you upset that you can't change a person with so much potential in them due to Drug abuse, alcahol abuse, etc.

@Fuzz1438 I had an ex boyfriend, who was very much into drugs.. I am only 14 and he is 14 as well. and has been doing drugs for the past two years.. And you push these people to stop doing drugs and telling them it will only hurt them, in the near future.. But you find out that no matter how hard you try to tell them to stop it won't make a difference.. Which is really upsetting.. And he tells me "Oh i'll stop just for you" or Just "I'll stop" but he never does.. Addictions are addictions..
