  • Amazing... so beautiful and powerful... I love this.

  • the fade out on this track is beautiful to the very last second. too bad it's not included in this video. i hate it when my itunes interrupts the ending while in shuffle mode. she is elegant and tough at the same time. a true original. the industry has made it less and less likely for artists like her to be born these days. i like to get high and listen to siouxsie and the banshees.

  • I hear the Smiths when she starts singing.

I really didn't know she was such a big influence

(i DID know she was ripped off by Madge the virgn though)

  • Everything is dazzle in this clip

  • best song everrrrr!!!!!!

  • like it

  • swallowing diamonds a cutting throat your teeth when you grin reflecting beams on tombstones a jamboree of surprises playing russian roulette or the lucky clip a clenched fist to your heart coal dust on your lungs a silver tongue for the chosen one heavy magnum in your side or a bloody thorn skating bullets on angel dust in a dead sea of fluid mercury baby piano cries under your heavy index and thumb pull some strings -- let them sing
  • @FUBU19845 the stars that shine and the stars that shrink

in the face of stagnation the water runs

    before your eyes

    dazzle

    it's a glittering prize

  • @FUBU19845 coke

  • best song and video EVER

  • I love everything Siouxsie and the Banshees made but this song is really my favorite. As well as the video. I watch it ten times in a row sometimes. Can't get enough of it. <3

  • y e s ! ! !

  • Umm Mr. punk legend of history BVMTB THE BAND so called... was not created to fill an open punk rock slot they were a band prior... contrary to your expert digging -they were a band before that PUNK festival I saw them at O'hares in London son!. with stiv bator and the Dead boys.

  • My favourite Susie's song EVER!

  • love this songs

  • They show Siouxsie, Steve Severin and Budgie... why don't they show the Guitarrist and keyboard player? was this filmed before or after Robert Smith joined and left?

  • @orrinaleron You're fucking, damn straight! It pisses me off , too! The song was originally 5m 30sec. I'd like an answer, too, on why they edit the song in the video. (The CD has the full version, BTW. I think you meant the video version is gutted.) Siouxsie & the Banshees was one of the greatest bands of the 1980s, and one of the most underrated. I grew up listening to them in high school and college. A lot better than the hip-hop spew, Justin Bieber, and that other bubble-gum shit of today.

  • good song but why does she look like Tim Curry in Rocky Horror?

  • luuv that dress

  • still d give her one

  • 10 dislikes???!? Sod off and listen to your Mariah Carey, your Beyoncé, your "Lady" Gaga, your Amy WHINE-house etc etc, if you think that's talent. You sad, sad people...

  • @Lee71England amy aint bad though, but the rest is a disgrace to pop

  • This sooo takes me back!, must be 25 yr's...saw them twice and on one of the occasions she had a broken leg in plaster, and still preformed brillantly!

  • Number one... the best of all time! :-)))

  • just W A O O O O O O W !

  • She was a right tasty bit of stuff!

  • At the begin of this song is a piece of very soothing music, it sounds classical if so does anyone know the name of the music it was taken from

  • @1disaffected i think its original and by Robert Smith of the Cure

  • One of her best songs! Siouxsie is a fucking Legend!

  • watch ! ANDI SEX GANG KAMIKZE BEAUTY ! awesome

  • fucking awesome

  • beautiful.

  • still would

  • dreamy...reminds me of Samuel Coleridge poetry...

  • God I have such memories of watching Siouxsie play many years ago... a sea of back combed black hair, thick eyeliner and gothic styled clothing..... wish they would come back up north... LIKE NOW!

  • Truly amazing artists!

  • nice frankenfurter make up on this broad

  • time passes by and they still sound new THAT'S WHAT YUO CALL MUSIC LOVE IT

  • Siouxsie Sioux, Dinah Cancer, Tina Root, these are ladies with pure talent. Not this Lady Gaga modern crap. This is a beautiful song indeed "Dazzle it's a glittering prize."

  • They did write some amazing lyrics ...

  • donde estara mi amiga gardenvamp??

  • So she wae 19 on this video ? Amazing.

  • @sblug2

No! Siouxsie was born May 27, 1957. The video for "Dazzle" was filmed in early 1984, when Siouxsie was 26.

An amazing song from the best band ever!

  • "skating bullets on angel dust - in a dead sea of fluid mercury" absolutely brilliant.

  • I'm old.

  • she looks like frankenfurter from rocky horror in this video...not in a bad way

  • nothing compares to seeing siousxsie live. only saw the band once, and will never forget it.

  • @d0sitmatr me too. :)

  • @d0sitmatr just for your knlowledge -> i hate you

  • this and the last beat of my heart are the best songs , I've ever heard

  • Simple comfort A liturgy of assertive faith EE Cummings would have been proud With this song I continue to breahe Thank you G-D

  • All-time favorite Banshees song.

  • I 1st heard this song on an indie radio station from Oshkosh when I was 19.....Brings back the good old days when my life was new and not so stale as now.....Great voice.

  • @musicmamma You mean Oshkosh Wisconsin right?(not sure if there are any others). Nice to see someone else who enjoys Siouxsie from Wisconsin.

  • @DEATHBYFLYINGCDS Yes, I mean Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

  • @musicmamma I'm down near milwaukee.

  • i don't think i've ever heard sioux sing as beautifully as on this song. it's almost operatic in its delivery and execution. truly one of a kind, sioux is. no one did nor has ever been able to sing the way she does...no matter how much anybody tries.

  • This song is amazing. bet the album is not so good. big pity!

  • Love her! We'll never see women in music like this again unless current culture REALLY changes.

  • i love her gloves! :D

  • Adorei *-*

  • A real highlight in their career. This and "Song from the Edge of the Word" really have the most beautiful lyrics.

  • Robert Smith added some refreshing guitar on this album.

  • Their best song, ever.

  • Never tire of Siouxsie..lucky enough to see them perform a few times, I can remember a sea of black hair and gothic clothing...amazing times!

  • such a glamorous, gorgeous video and song. timeless.

  • One embodiment of Cleopatra?

  • I love the starting bit, even though I love it all. Siouxsie and the banshees are the best ever.

  • @sadieviction Yes, the starting bit's really beautiful.

  • Wow, this is such a far cry from what type of music we hear nowadays

  • @sadieviction I don't know. There's lots of electronic music that has a similar level of dazzle and swirl.

  • Awwwweee I just uhhh!

  • I met her about three years ago after a gig in wolverhampton.. I also spoke to the rest of the band. I found susie to be a natural and warm human being she signed my ticket on a guys chest she used as a table, and then they had a photo together. She and I are the same age as each other..but I was totally in awe..if I had have had the nerve to kiss her I would have..she is great and into art nouveau and klimt like me..oh by the way ..I have a couple of cds out myself..xxxxxxxxxxxx

  • @postesg

I think Gustav Klimt would have adored Siouxsie.

  • That thing with arms at 1.00 is mesmerising.

  • I love Siouxsie's gratuitous jazz hands! I <3 her

  • forgot about this one! THX PCB!

  • beautiful music by a beautiful woman, florence fans take heed and bow down, she started off as one of the sex pistols entourage, part of the bromley contingent, a middle class kid, who hung around malcom mc larrens shop sex she became an icon for an era!!

  • @MrSteveinstoke

Florence isn't as great, compared to Siouxsie.

  • @WoodRatGirl i'm a big fan of flo but i must concur. besides, florence pretty much is inspired by siouxsie and the banshees anyway. still, certainly beats half the crap i hear today. she and natasha khan are probably the freshest sounding artists i've heard on the female side. and i do appreciate that they are least bringing some of the spirit from women like sioux back into the foray once again.

  • @scottjhnsn

Natasha Khan is brilliant and thanks for your comment :)

  • @scottjhnsn OMG finally someone thinks the same bout Flo&Natasha with Siouxsie!:D

Girl, you just made my day!

  • @MrSteveinstoke I like Florence. ,_, IS that a crime? I do like Siouxsie more though. Does that make you happy?

  • @MrSteveinstoke I like Florence. ,_, IS that a crime? I do like Siouxsie more though. Does that make you happy?

  • so lovely :o

  • The first song I heard the Banshees play live!

  • An epic tune.

  • Her arms' movement kind of reminded me of Ian Curtis.. weird.

  • I love the way she moves her hips at 1:15. Sexy.

  • superb band

  • Some people say that this song is to do with the controversy of Blood Diamond gathering in Africa. Is that true? or is the meaning behind the song much different?

If any Siouxsie fan's know, feel free to tell me the real meaning.

  • She is so pretty!

  • she's way better than lady gaga and all those other popstars now...

  • *Speechless*

  • There was a video for this???

  • @UnanimousDelivers

Yes and there's also a fantastic remix of this song as well. You can find that on YouTube as well, if you look for it.

  • I recall this Robert Smith's quote on this song (more or less):

Dazzle was recorded during one of our night sessions with Steve (Severin)..It had this strong, raw feeling.....and then they added the strings...

    :)

  • Great.

  • It still thunders through me, 20 years nearly, AWSOME!!! Souisie was amazing, and live... WOW!!! She has just had her birthday, yesterday, respect!

  • I do want to dance like her!

  • i was born 10 years too early

  • Beautiful,captivating..such an influence on my life

  • Crikey, this takes me back...should have been a hit.

  • saw sue for the first time at the vortex with the antz.......78..??

  • looking for my crimping iron.....

  • goddamn she makes me crazy!!!!i would kiss the earth where she walks.....

  • So impressive. Reminds me of Mata Hari.

  • I remember dancing around to this when I was 4 and to this day this woman has made a musical impact on my life. And Id also like to thank Tanya, my babysitter.

  • I thinj that os the best music of theis band, but i've listened a alternative remix a few years ago that was better than the original version...^^

But also, siouxsie still sounds great!

  • God, such an underrated artist. I remember this when I was a tot. All her music videos blow everything else out of the water.

  • she is so gorgeous, her husband is such a lucky guy

  • Siouxsie Sioux and Budgie divorced a few years ago. So The Creatures are no longer together, but Siouxsie has gone solo and has released a really good album called MantraRay. Anyway, I agree about her being gorgeous.

  • Budgie is definitely the most innovative drummer I've ever heard.

  • @shanejacobus I was actually mentioning to my friend today, who was a former drummer himself, just how great a drummer budgie is. I played a live version of "exterminating angel" for him....he was AMAZED!

  • @shanejacobus

I totally agree. Shame that Budgie and Siouxsie seperated as well.

  • loveit

  • such a haunting song!!

    love it!!!!!!!!

  • as always siouxsie looks and sounds amazing!!

  • A great song.... that's not just Rockmusic, it's Art. And the intro is wonderful.

  • this is one of the most gorgeous songs from the 80's, in my opinion.

  • "skating bullets on angel dust on a dead sea of fluid mercury"

  • Totally originally.

  • My mother used to see them live when they did smaller concerts in clubs called "shows" back in the '70s. She says they were absolutely amazing.

  • I <3 SatB.

  • Ever sooooo SEXY, and can sing with the best of them......

  • perfect

  • Wonderful!!!!

    I love Siouxsieeee♥

  • One of their most beautiful songs, definitely.

And Budgie looks kinda hot in the end !

  • absolutely superb!!

  • To the people who try to define this gorgeous, AMAZING song, there isn't just one meaning. Songs are created to be brilliant wonders that can mean nothing and everything. All of you could be right. So, let's stop arguing and listen to the Goddess sing!!!

  • july 2009 live concert in Milano Italia...I was there

  • I was there too .... Marvellous !

  • "Skating bullets on angel dust" is probably the most interesting lyric ever. I love Siouxsie!

  • just letting out of a hot, smokey bar after last call... walking home on a cold, Saturday night in the middle of winter... breathing cold, fresh air, booze still warm in my veins...

  • i rather like it,so do me...

    saludos loreto-peru

  • I just have one question: Why is Robert Smith not in this video?

  • @shanejacobus He went back to the Cure shortly after this album was finished.

  • captivating.. sensual.. this song has it all...

from the best album ever made, "Hyaena"

  • have you ever seen or heard anything more beautiful? It's just so captivating, I'm addicted. :)

  • @QueeenBrian You have refined tastes, my friend. Not that many people appreciate the elegance and soaring beauty of this gem from the Banshees. I regard it as one of their very best - and that's saying something! My compliments.

  • @QueeenBrian And what about video? I think, it is beautiful too.

  • @QueeenBrian I can only agree with glamoured eyes....

  • Quite possibly the best video by the Banshees I've seen so far. Not that there's anything wrong with the others.

  • robert smith was on key boards right?

  • She's dazzling! Siouxsie's quite the enchantress.

  • The diamond metaphor applies to the paradox of value, which basically means that although water is essential to life and survival, diamonds will still command a higher price in the market. It's a paradox, really.

  • I like that

  • I'm not trying to be rude, but how do you know???

  • Actually I just looked it up...you are wrong, the song has nothing to do with your pretentious babble, trying to assign meaning to a song you know nothing about. The song was inspired by the film The Marathon Man and that comes from Siouxsie's own mouth....

  • amen!!!! hahhahhaahhhhahahah

  • U HAVE ALOT OF REALLYGOOD VIDA THX

  • Unless you mean a sexual metaphor, then no.

  • does anyone get the metaphor about the diamond sinking into the water????

  • @toredown7 it has nothing to do with it

  • LOL those hand gestures are killing me! It's emberrassing now, but me and all my friends used to dance like that.

  • Funfact: This is Robert Smith on the Synth

  • They used this song to open their 1984 tour and it worked really well for that purpose.

  • Not their best, to be honest. Two chords remain two chords, even with a metre-thick icing of strings on top.

  • Wikipedia (we know how accurate that is) says the song was inspired by the final scene of the movie Marathon Man after Laurence Olivier cuts the man's throat and then later loses all his diamonds in the scene with Dustin Hoffman.

  • Another early Siouxsie corker

  • Love her look in this ! Always wanted to go out dressed like this when I was 18 ...LOL

  • my all time fave

  • Completely gorgeous.

  • I love the violin of that music!!!

  • The song's from '84 -- lonnnnnnnng before anybody knew what "blood diamonds" were.

  • its "reflecting BEAMS on tombstones" actually =)

  • Beautiful video :)

  • sicuramente una delle mie preferite in assoluto!

  • i am so obsessed with this song. but i think its about a drug trip. idk. this song is SOOO beautiful!

  • maybe it is...so what?? enjoy it !!!

  • It's about the Afircan blood-diamond trade

  • Love the way Siouxsie moves in this video, she is so magic, unique, love her!.
