  • My own doctor could'nt get rid of me quick enough...i come from a town that nobody wants to work in so getting good staff is always a problem. The saying here is "if in pain catch a plane" we do have a couple of good cardiac doc's but they are so overworked they just can't help the way they would like.

  • Ive been doing a nursing degree and also have artherosclerosis wish i had looked at this in 2006 when first diagnosed ive had 2 angio's and the last one showed 70% blockage to the right coronary artery so a bit worried now...thanks so much for this and other video explaining how to avoid open heart as well....a very good detailed layman explanation. Sir you are a credit to society.

  • Right, because a mystical sky wizard that watched why the doctors did the real work deserves credit.

  • I had triple artery heart bypass surgery in 2002. This is the first video I have seen about how the surgery is done. Very helpful since I am still on medication and who knows what is down the road heartwise for me.

  • Thanks to the guy talking in this video. He makes things interesting and easy to understand :)

  • This is soo interesting. Thanks for uploading

  • my father had a 6-way CABG last year in November. I am glad and blessed to say he is doing very well. Thank you to all the surgeons!

  • thank you for putting this up i appreciate this incredibly so..i am a surgical technology student and watching this was very educational =]

  • oh and i want to thank the patient that gave permission for this. im a hospital corpsman in the navy and i love everything medical. thanks so much. :)

  • the guy does a great job in explaining so that normal people can understand. he didnt use terms that were to difficult. great video.

  • My dad is having this Surgary in 6-7 hours from now in a new york columbia hospital in Manhattan

  • REMEMBER IF YOU NEEDED THIS SURGERY BEFORE THE SIXTIES IT WASNT AVAILABLE.

GOD BLESS THOSE PIONEERS ( HEROS OF HUMANITY ) WHO MADE THE IMPOSSIBLE TO SAVE THE MISERABLE HUMANITY AND LET THEM ENJOY NORMAL LIFE AGAIN .WE ARE REALLY INDEBTED TO THEM AND NO MATTER WHAT WE DO WE CANT REWARD THEM ENOUGH. TRY TO COMPARE THOSE GREAT PEOPLE TO THE WAR MONGER POLITICIANS , BOY WHAT A DIFFERENCE.

    MOHAMMED

  • @kjjoi Don't thank god for this. Thank the people that studied millions of hours and the volunteers to help practice this method to what it is today. Give credit where credit is due.

  • @AFlyingNunofOz Credit is also due to God. I had heart bypass surgery and know what I am talking about.

  • @Johnflugelhorn Right, because a mystical sky wizard deserves credit as he watched over the doctors doing the work.

  • .The first coronary artery bypass surgery was performed in the United States on May 2, 1960, at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Bronx Municipal Hospital Center by a team led by Dr. Robert Goetz and the thoracic surgeon, Dr. Michael Rohman with the assistance of Dr. Jordan Haller and Dr. Ronald Dee.

  • my dad had a bypass last tuesday.. can anyone tell me how long it takes for a person to recover ? At the moment my dad is just resting, but I hate to see him like this :( and the stiches are really putting off :(

  • @SyedShah01 I had a quad bypass 9 months ago. Was in ICU for 2 days and regular for thee more. I recovered faster then expected. Next two months lotsa fatigue and naps. Got stronger every week. Now hiking/walking 26-34 miles a week and lifting weights. No heart attack before only 95% blocked...hereditary. Be strong for your dad and encourage him. I was in good shape for a 66 YO and a nonsmoker. It you dont pray maybe nows the time to start.

  • @45msaz thank you for your response. That is really encouraging - I have been looking after him, one thing is for sure - he does seem to be getting stronger and its only been 2 weeks - and he gets loads of sleep! With regards to praying - this is something I should start doing, God bless you, take care

  • "Protandim(R) Found to Prevent a Process that Causes Blood Vessel Blockage in New Peer-Reviewed Study From The Ohio State University... Protandim(R) prevents the proliferation of cells that can cause re-blockage of vessels following coronary artery bypass surgery, stenting, and carotid enarterectomy."

  • this stuff is amazing.. I love the internet.... makes me (and all users) sooo much smarter... 20 years ago the opportunity for me to learn about heart bypass surgery would have been rare... and its all soo interesting too ;-) Thanks to the the poster and the doctor.. great job!

  • I love the video, thank you ,

  • Thank you! It is just what I want to know this difficult time.....

  • I had this operation 2 weeks ago in Bristol in the UK, it's so nice to see what exactly what is done to you, the only diiference was my surgeon worked on my heart without stopping my heart and didnt use the by pass machine, so my recovery is less complicated and quicker...Great work though, by all these dedicated people who I owe my life to.

    Many Thanks
