  • ummm looks good and simple to make, I'm ganna try it this week, hopefully my husband well like it to, he's do dame picky

  • I am Cambodian and I love Kapoon. Also, I love the different ways that Thai, Laos, Hmong, and Cambodians have made this dish. They all have their own twist for curry and noodles. But I have never seen or tasted a Vietnamese version. Hopefully, I will get to try it one day. I honestly don't know why people even care where it came from. There are all kinds of curries from different country because we all love curry. (^_^)

  • JESUS CHRIST!! This is not Laotian or Hmong kapoon, this is American kapoon!! Keep posting your videos girl!!

  • Pho or Kapoon?.....Damn....I LOVE both..lol

  • Even my dogs can tell thats not hmong food.lol but im pretty sure its belong too laos tho.im mien n laos piece out

  • Your style is nice and simple and looks yummy but I think you put too much salt at 3:17.

  • @Themmodifiedbarbie-Hello nice of you to comment I'm Mien and Thai born here in the US. My mom is Mien born in Laos and my dad is Thai from Thailand. I'm more adapted to Mien culture because I'm aground my mother's culture more but I love both my half. Kapoon topic sounds like a controversy. It's good as long as who makes it good.

  • im hungry now "_

  • looks so delcious!=)

  • Great video mam!

  • You can't really refer this food origin to anywhere else other than Laos. Curry and some other things has been around but not originated in Laos but the way it is used with other ingredients together were originated from Laos. I know there are other dishes in Vietnamese, Chinese, India, and other countries like it. Only countries I have seen this style is streets/homes/restaurants every day in Laos and Cambodia. If it's rare in other countries wouldn't you say it didn't come from them?

  • did u use those peeler thing to cut the purple banana thing into thin slices?

  • Hmong, Lao, Thai. We all live together, come from the same area, and eat the same food. So chill out. Lao people eat "Hmong" food too. Just watch Anthony Bourdain. When he went to Laos, the Laotions he stayed with served him a bowl of stew made from fried pork that they boiled with greens which they said is the traditional Hmong stew.

  • Kapoon is Lao. A lot of Mien and Hmong use the same name. LOL

  • nice nice but can u give them to me on my lap

  • its vietnamese food, i think

  • @dancerfreak02 It's ''BUN BO HUE'' and ''BUN CARI/CURRY'' in one. This is definitely a vietnamese food that has been adopted by Lao and hmong. Many of the vietnamese traditional foods were adopted by Cambodia & Lao. Lao is influenced by North, Central Vietnam's cuisine because it located up next to North, Central Vietnam and Cambodia is influenced by South Vietnamese cuisine. This dish has it origin in Hue, Vietnam that's why they call ''BUN BO HUE.''

  • Continue: Banana flowers, vermicelli noodles, red curry, mint, cilantro , cabbages, beef balls in this video instead of beef sliced and ground pork instead of pork feet or legs are part of the ingredients in making BUN BO HUE. Central viietnamese cuisine.

  • kuv hlub koj! i mean the food too

  • yummy

  • I made this recipe for my in-laws last night and they LOVED IT! Thank You!!!

  • Im Hmong and i know...Hmong pride ..but credit goes to Lao.... and yea it does matter where authentic food comes... thats the beauty of culture. I understand why shes says Hmong food because we live in Laos.

It is important to know if it is Hmong or Lao because it defines who we are individually. Its call knowledge and BEAUTY! thank for the video!!!! :) I LOVE KHAO POON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @msaudible Kapoon is highly Laotian....but I think she's calling it Hmong Kapoon because it's her own special recipe. I think many of us have adopted certain recipes into our family and made it our own. I like how she did this because I make kapoon differently and never tried it like this before.

  • @nrhiavkojxwb actually...

  • great video!i subscribe!

  • I'm Mien and Thai. Although originally kapoon is from Thailand and Laos, I can see why she calls it Hmong food because it's her own style inspired by Thai and Laos. So I would give her credit for making it her own version and yes it looks good.

  • @Jujurep916ness - My ex was the exact same as you (Mien, born in Thailand) and his parents lived in laos and speak Laotian too, this is from there.

  • @ilovejordanbryant This is just food. You can't expect food to look like super models.

  • oh and i hate how you pronounce kao poun. so annoying!

  • please do more hmong cooking videos, i luv to try new recipes thank you so much :)

  • she said lite salt.lolthat;s alot.

  • Yummy!

  • Kapoon is lao not hmong.

  • @AlexanderKoobtsheej is hmong now!

  • @AlexanderKoobtsheej mmmm hmm!

  • @AlexanderKoobtsheej i think it just depends on on who and ho people make them :)

  • @AlexanderKoobtsheej Umm, so what? Its just food. It's just a dish that is popular among Hmong people.

  • @AlexanderKoobtsheej hmong don't have food like this. hmong copied from lao, thai and chinese and other. so we shouldn't called it hmong food because is not hmong food.

  • @AlexanderKoobtsheej Many Lao, Thai, Hmong, Vietnamese foods are influenced by each other because of the proximity of how close they lived to each other and their countries, bordering each other. All their foods have been heavily influenced. Their dishes, though similar, have unique tastes and are slightly different.

  • I like chicken and the quail eggs. Thanks for the video. Now I can finally learn how to make kapoon. Haha.

  • @RomanticSeduction ..that what im talkin about yummy !

  • you should show us how to make Peev Choj and Nqaij Qab Zib (sweet pork). if you know how to make them. :)

  • yummm! ^^

  • So do you prefer pork over chicken???

  • @Luvablebubbles CHICKEN FOR ME!

  • @dorkiebitch91 So I tried pork and its actually really good! I'll make chicken next..lol

  • im a laos girl(:

  • i've never had banana flower before...how does it taste like?

  • @Phaythful

it taste more way better than that kind of vegetable

  • i can no longer eat Kapoon with coconut milk in it. if so, i will only have a small bowl.

  • I love red curry kapoon! But... I should point out, this isn't Hmong food. This is Lao.

  • @jephboy

    your so right!!!

  • @jephboy Who cares if it's Hmong or Lao, it's a yummy dish! Just eat people! Gosh!!!!!

  • @gurl08 I agree, it annoys me when people come on other people's video and make comments like that. Some people are so anal.

  • @hli04 Yes its true some people are anal. Hmong dish, Lao dish, Thai dish, Khmer dish, What the Pho???

It's the same thing, be more considerate viewers GOSH! LOL hahahha Thanks though

  • @gurl08 I definitely agree with you. I'm Laotian and I make mine this way too, cuz I LOVE quail eggs. Traditional dish does not have quail eggs.

  • this is Hmong food! Wanna know why?cause it was bought by a hmong person and made by one!

For example when americans have a typical american dinner with say pizza or spahghetti, they aren't eating italian food, its american cause they made it! or when they eat a hamburger ( hamburgers originated form Hamberg germany), its a typical american food. so this is typical hmong food!

  • @jephboy This is hmong food lao people put all kinds of shiz in theirs f

  • Thanks for the recipe of making kapoon .it the best

  • It looks so good! I make mine with ground pork too but next time I'ma put some beef meatballs in it too and I'm very impressed that you can actually cook these kind of foods because these days hmong girls doesn't know how to cook anything and it's all about going out to eat.. But yea I look foward to watching your upcoming videos =)

  • yum that looks hella good! imma try to make that when i have some free time this month!
