  • somehow it's very refreshing to see him wearing a helmet, this guy is fucking serious. All the half arsed flatland stuff is quite boring in the other videos, this guy just shows you his seemingly fast foward cadence!

  • anyone know the gear ratio hes riding on?:)

  • i like how simple his wheelsets are. those are like the ones i ride...not fucking aerospoke or massive deep vs these are cheaper and cooler in my opinion

  • ITS TIGHT THAT HE WEARS HIS HELMET

  • Used to live in San Francisco... Never rode a fixie there, though I do now. Shots like 4:50 are inspiring.

  • every time I start jamming downhill or on flat land on my fixed gear, I think of this guy. Shits inspiring.

  • Id kill for a chance to ride bikes with this guy.

  • what gear ratio they use?

  • this guy is fucking BEAST!. ima go change my pants now,,,

  • just one dislike, good to see no one hating fixie riders

  • :09 HIV negative!! lol. congrats

  • CSI

  • What if the Seat head snaps at those speeds ? Imagine wtf would happen, that would be so brutal .

  • That frame is actually a little small for him.

  • @MetricHotrodsdotcom Almost every 'hipster' fixie rider uses a frame too small, it's just part of the style.

  • @theamazingbear This guy isn't really a hipster, he's just a fking good cyclist

  • Comment removed

  • @theamazingbear lol well that shows how much you know. rainier isn't a hipster. he's actually a professional cyclist. he rides for many companies... on the track and on the street.

  • @theplaidmonkey I fail to see how this is contrary to my point that most hipsters use a frame slightly undersised for them... I didn't say he wasn't a professional cyclist and the two aren't mutually exclusive. Cycling in a manner typical to hipster culture doesn't mean you can't do professional cycling. Lance Armstrong rode with the MASH guys on a fixie a few years ago in Texas, he's hardly a hipster, doesn't mean he can't fit in with that clique in his riding style there.

  • @theamazingbear dude it's all about what size you find most comfortable. its all personal preference.

  • @theplaidmonkey Once again, I know. I never suggested anybody should buy a frame too small or big for them. I didn't mean it as advice, I was merely offering my insight. Of course if it's comfortable for you then it is right; whatever people are riding it's still more people cycling which can't be a bad thing in most cases.

  • @theamazingbear agreed. but... even though its more people cycling most of them don't know the rules of the road and pull stupid shit which gives responsible riders a bad name as well. this is a big problem here in LA. Stupid kids think its cool to run red lights, cut off cars, and make illegal turns. -________-

  • @theplaidmonkey well when im in a rush, i run everything :P

  • always the best songs on the macaframa vids. props

  • fast

  • Comment removed

  • his bike is really fast, i thought about getting the s.e. lager is that a good bike? is it fast?

  • @Oddtrav well be fine, nice average beginner bike to learn on

  • @Oddtrav no

  • @Oddtrav

Yes, it is a great bike to start out with. Just dont pay full price if possible, because I got one for a very good bargain and I would say there are still 2010's going around so you could pick one up fairly cheapish. I wouldnt go splashing out on an NJS frame or a Vigorelli like Rainier straight away, although I for one would love to get a Vigorelli in the future.Bikes direct seem to have good bargains too, or something like a Fuji Track or KHS Flite. You can upgrade parts as you go

  • @AnFinsceal1 you do know the bike he is on is a Cinelli right?

  • @snodude55 vigorelli is the name of the frame model made by cinelli. its named after a velodrome i believe.

  • @organicmuch

yeah you are right, in Milan. To be honest, looking back on what I said I think I may have got it wrong. Try a friends fixed gear, if you like it and you think it is for you, then maybe invest in a quality frame straight away. It will save you from upgrading later, which you will probably want to do. If I was to go back in time I would just have bought a Bob Jackson(Steel) or Cinelli Vigorelli/Mash(Aluminium). It saves money long term.

  • @organicmuch yep i realized that right after I posted my comment, i tried to delete it, but was unsucsessful. Either way, i want that frame. so sick.

  • Rainier Schaefer is actually synonymous for 'Mashing it'

  • Best Macaframa video in my opinion.

  • 19th ave all the way to the good Ol' highway 1! :D

  • He was mobbing so hard at the end.

  • @snodude55 mobbin all the way down 19th ave! xD

  • mashed it at the end!

  • what do you film with ? 5d ?

  • That guy was bookin' it! And it was cool to see him in a helmet, I should really wear one.

    Great ending.

  • what helmets is he wearing?????

  • the intrro........ off the chain!!! good job

  • haha, i can just imagine what the drivers think when a guy on a bike passes them up. ahahaha.

  • i thought fixed gear bikes were supposed to smooth your stroke and clean up your form, this guy needs to relax.

  • r u joking me like really wtf get this guy in the olympics

  • LOL @ 4:28 he turned into Fabio.

  • anyone know what kind of helmet he has? company/make. I've had a few close calls with cars and don't wanna chance it,

  • @Bassmasta1222 Any helmet w/ dot road certification counts, which is about every helmet made. Pick the color and style you like and call it a day, helmets are pretty much all the same except for straps/colors etc.

  • @Bassmasta1222

not sure the model but im pretty sure the brand is lazer

  • somebody help me out, what do messengers message?

  • wear a helmet on a fixie i had a accident i lost 2 fingers and had a freakin hole in my head,

  • Rainier is my favorite frama rider

  • mashin

  • what a bamf, he doesnt even stop or slow down when it says to lolz

  • Thumbs up for fixie riders with helmets! I too will feel cooler wearing mine now.

Can someone tell me how to do that skid flick done while down hilling?

  • 1:42

That's not the "Day After Tomorrow" wave. Its the Fog Wall. Yezzir. The Fog Wall. And I Hate it.

  • thanks everyone, I'm looking at a bunch of different cranks, thinking of picking up a Nashbar flip flop hub and switching the lock rings but can't decide what cranks to get. I' looking towards a 47t or 48t crank. suggestionnnnns? (:

  • anybody wanna tell me a good beginner fixed gear ratio?

  • @killuhbrew I ride a 48x17 brakeless, which is a good overall gear ratio with plenty of skid patches. I can climb most hills without killing myself or my knees. Skidding is not a problem either. I ride between 18-21mph, spinning easily, anything above that and you're spinning your ass off, LOL. You'll max out at 30-32mph on a flat, but you'll damn near kill yourself from spinning, which is good for improving your overall cadence. Good luck!!

  • @killuhbrew yea around 47 48n in the front and 16 17 in the back most stock gearing is around that

  • @killuhbrew 42:16 a lot easier to skid

  • does anyone know what kind of bullhorns those are?

  • it makes me so happy to him wearing a helmet cause it makes me feel not as retarded for wearing mine. hes my idol. haa

  • @xX6jdub9XxaaaA funny, I feel retarded when I DON"T wear a helmet.

  • @aztr0zombie well you probably just dont give a fuck what people think about you. or maybe your helmet looks cool, or just better on you than me. literally, like im not even joking, rainier looks cool, my helmet like, sticks 9 inches off of my head. hahahaha.

  • @xX6jdub9XxaaaA But it makes me feel retarded for wearing mine

  • @v35k037V not wearing mine...oops

  • @xX6jdub9XxaaaA real talk. And he's the raddest rider in the video in my opinion. He mashes sooooooooo hard.

  • @xX6jdub9XxaaaA He wears his helmet because he mobs harder than anyone else in the crew.

  • @xX6jdub9XxaaaA wearing a helmet is not retarded. its retarded not wearing one.

  • @xX6jdub9XxaaaA You're a fag.

  • B-E-A-S-T

    Great video.

  • so fast! i wanna race cars

  • Fuck an internal combustion engine.

  • 49x17

  • Can anyone tell me what kind of helmet he's wearing?

  • inspiring

  • Comment removed
