Please come pray with us at the glorious 3-mile May Procession followed by Solemn Latin Mass, Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, SATURDAY MAY 7, 2011!
Start 8:00 a.m. East Lawn Cemetery, 43rd & Folsom Blvd, Sacramento. For details and information see our YouTube video "May Procession & Latin Mass Sacramento May 7, 2011"
I have uploaded a number of full tridentine masses and a few excerpts from the Agneskerk (Agneschurch) in Amsterdam the Netherlands (Holland). Served by the priestly fraternity of st. Peter, in full communion with the pope and the local bishop.
@azworx I'm not RC and I probably shouldn't comment regarding RC services. I'm just trying to think about a lot of different things - and one of those things is to try to consider what an ideal worldwide political and religious situation would be like. I guess I would like to see a Namaste Constitutional Responsible Freedom Solar System. On the other hand - 90% of the time I don't know what I want - and I probably wouldn't be happy regardless of how things were set up. Oh wretched man that I am.
I prefer the glory, grandeur, reverence, and awe of the traditional service...rather than the 'Jesus is my buddy, show-up in shorts and a t-shirt, praise-song, hippie reefer-madness'.
@redletterchurch I too adore the formality of Sunday clothes, kneeling, grandeur and tradition of the latin rite, but we should'nt give the impression that our brother's and sister's in Christ are 'hippie reefermadness'. They are still part of the body of Christm and we should do what we can to support them in their love for God.
@sungmoon1987 You are correct - and I do support them. I was simply expressing a preference - but I probably overstated my case. Church should probably be a combination of formality and informality. I don't really know what the proper balance is. I'm just sort of a smart-alec sometimes - but I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. Reductio ad Absurdum.Mea Culpa. Kyrie Eleison.
I show up to Mass two to three times a week dressed in t-shirt and shorts. Does that somehow make me less reverent than those who decide to show up once a week in a shirt, tie, and suit jacket? Reverence comes from the heart and soul, not one's outward appearance.
Hippies are pagans who live a life of vice, sin and ultimately disrepect for God and what is right. Face it my friend...
The whole hippie culture is based on contempt for God's divine laws and teachings through scripture such as there belief in "free love" and an egalitarian eqaulity where there is to be no authority over anything such as parents over children or God over man. So that culture is very evil and follows the whim of Satan.
I was raised in towns full of hippies and ex-hippies, the only difference being that the latter cut their hair and got jobs. To compare Jesus with a 1960's cultural radical (is it because of the long hair?) shows either your ignorance of the Christian faith or your hatred of it. Merry CHRISTmas to you also.
Do you mean to say that He was a self-centered, egomaniacal, crystal-worshipping, left-wing drug addict with no personal hygiene skills and the sexual morals of a golden retriever?
Too bad so many parishes fall for the hippie garbage of Oregon Catholic Press music instead of Gregorian chant, which Vatican II gave "pride of place" in the liturgy. If the liturgical reforms had been followed as the Council suggested, the Novus Ordo would look and sound more like this Mass than a Young Life campfire meeting from 1985.
Just think...when i o to seminary I will haveto endure this!....such a disaster! Prefer a clown mass LOL! (joke) down with the clowns and up with the latin! Deo gratias
That organ playing is horrible. Talk about clashing.

is this a roman catholic church or the episcopal or anglican church?
supernatural2029 10 months ago
@supernatural2029 This is a Roman Catholic Church, as all the priests are from traditional catholic religious orders.
AdversusHaereses 10 months ago
@AdversusHaereses is it a church that is called the traditional catholics but not in communion with the roman church?
supernatural2029 10 months ago
@supernatural2029 No no, these are just Catholics who preserve the traditional practices in the Liturgy. They are in perfect communion with Rome.

Good to hear the sound of children during the mass. Sure sign of a dead church, no babies.
