But of course I am not saying you can't make a site without knowing code, because I have Dreamweaver. But your site will be crap :). You can't make anything like facebook, netflix, myspace, playlist, or anything of the sorta. All your site is gonna be is regular site with nothing interesting to do, so therefor no one will have a reason to VISIT your site.

You are good at using this software, but do you even know how to code HTML? CSS? Javascript? because if you are looking to get a job in this field they won't hire you if you don't know HOW to code...

@TheKrewd Coding is becoming obsolete faster and faster. I know a few web designers that don't code, though they do know how and recommended learning it. But they say coding is becoming less needed, for new software can fix problems that otherwise would need someone to get down and dirty into thousands of lines of script.

@skaterjudge The that is BS, you know why? When you are making a site without code a number of things is gonna happen.

1)Errors are gonna occur IN YOUR CODE. When that happens you are screwed.

2)You have no real *Customization* so it is gonna look like CRAP compared to a site where the designer DID know code.

3)Doing it this way you can't add a login area or anything that requires some sort of database.

4)You can't add any interactivity.

So saying that knowing code is obsolete is total Bull----.

@SkateFallen1424 True on all you said, but here is why I still despise the Design tab.

1) I had not knowing what it is doing. If you code it yourself you know what it should be doing, and if it messes up you have a good sense of where the error is.

2) Ties in with #1, if you know how to code, wouldn't it be easy to just code it yourself so you KNOW it will be too your liking, you will also know what aspects of the code to edit to change that area.

Lastly, wouldn't you want to say you coded it?

@matiasbackman you dont need to buy a domain unless the domain that you want to use is already used and is up for sale, otherwise you can just make up your own domain. but you do need to buy a hosting service, like on a server. i am pretty sure that you can host your website on your own computer but i dont know how thats done. hope that that answers your question

When im doing the settings with the flash button ( time 3.05 at the tutorial ) and i click apply i get this error : button1.swf is an invalid filename . please enter a different name . @serhad95 First of all, it was renamed because Adobe bought Macromedia. MD 8 is an old version and is sort of primitive, but it fullfills basic needs of making a web-site while CS 4, being released recently, has a lot of new material, fancy options etc. CS4 is just a progression of MD 8. Same story with Macromedia Flash and Adobe Flash

Here is the basics of making Styles on your site, because on the basics of making CSS Styles for your page, you normally start with the Page Properties bottom on the button. But later on when you really get into Dreamweaver, you should start learning how to make layout pages, CSS tag rules and mainly you need to start working in the CSS Style tab on the right top corner, (not shown in this video).

Not sure if cs4 even has flash buttons anymore, they are pretty old. You might as well go with some nice image buttons, you could also make them rollover but that adds a lot of messy code to your website.

You need to buy a domain name and hosting to have your own address and for it to be up online.

You can add google gadgets by clicking in design view where you want the gadget then going into code view and pasting the gadget's code. If you try previewing your page the gadget may not come up, you may have to upload your page onto a server (hosting) first. Common mistake, don't just copy the first button and then try change it. For each new button you must go to Insert > Whatever > Whatever and make a new button. That should fix your problem, please contact me through my website if you have another problem.
