  • Several Dodger players have talked about it, sure enough today on the pre-game radio broadcast they mentioned it again. Go figure...

  • I stayed there for the summer feast and it is haunted dude I heard so many noises

  • Now Pablo Sandoval and Edgar Renteria are having problems with "ghosts" lol.

  • See, the small chunky man just wants to make sure his hotel is successful. Thats good to know.

  • lol, if carlos gomez runs fast on the bases, just imagine how fast he would run from a ghost. and if he had no pants, thats less weight, lol

  • Carlos Gomez would've gotten to that lobby in like 2 seconds!!!!!

  • 1st to call the idiot who thought he was 1st an asshole.

  • that's because Jesus was a real man, so obviously you'd find him in other books

  • what the address of that hotel? I am pretty good at feeling ghosts (i had a few weird experiences in my life) and wanna go there just to check it out. If you know, please reply. thx in adv.

    5/5

  • my grandma used to work there. you think the phister is haunted. try driving by the VA hospital, just 5 min down the road from the stadium. now that place is haunted

  • That's not how it works. Demons are afraid of Jesus Christ. Not Issa who is a prophet, but of God Almighty, who is Jesus Christ. That's why exorcists always use his name. Not Issa.

  • Those are hollow assertions - have any evidence?

    Besides, 'Jesus Christ' is how the name is pronounced in English. Arab Christians use the name 'Issa' - the name in the Koran comes from the name that was in use at the time. 'Jesus' has been called many things in many languages for centuries.

  • Looks like a nice hotel to me.

  • oh baseball players... so superstitious, you gotta love em

  • The Brewers and Twins are allowed in the Pfister?

  • What a wanker - a BIBLE is going to help??? Superstitious idiots certainly aren't getting paid for their mental faculties.

  • What's superstitious about taking a bible? That's the word of God. The only name evil spirits are afraid of is in that Bible.

  • Got any proof to back up those two claims?

    Why do you think he's better off with a bible than the Koran, the Talmud, the Bhagavad Gita, the Guru Granth Sahib, the Pāli_Canon, the Svetambara, or The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster???

  • Sure, ever wonder why exorcists always use the name of Jesus Christ. That is the ONLY name demons are afraid of. That's because they know he's God. You won't find that name in the Koran, the Talmud, or any other book, but the Bible.

  • yo kuroshinsen, if there was proof then it wouldn't be faith, right? but the more important question is "which is true" not "which has proof"

    but check-it, since there exist things that have proof and end up false, and things which have no proof that end up true, proof can not be the sole (or even reliable) predictor of true and false.

    btw, "the gospel of the flying spaghetti monster?" rofl!!

  • 1. How something can be determined to be true without any evidence? Having faith in something has no bearing on the issue of 'truth'.

  • i think your first question is key and i don't know the answer. however, i think 'faith' can have just as much bearing on the issue of 'truth' as proof may have.

    both 'faith' and 'proof' are attempts to predict truth, not truth itself - and as predictors, they are both sometimes are wrong.

  • 2. In my comments I made no truth claims - I only asked questions. Rachella38 made two truth claims and provided no evidence or argument for their validity. She should think about what she is saying rather than making unsubstantiated claims such as:

    -Evil spirits/demons exist

    -They are afraid of the name 'Jesus Christ'

    -The only place that name appears is in the bible

    Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence.

  • even though it was implicit, i think you did make truth claims, namely; "assertions based on evidence are more valid than assertions based on faith"

    so how does one determine the validity of the extraordinary, which by definition (and in accordance with your axiom) is not subject to "ordinary" evidence? christians specifically, and theist generally, describe their "faith" as this extra-ordinary evidence. and according to your own axiom, is the only appropriate predictor of the extra-ordinary.

  • Faith is believing in something *without* evidence. You can't use faith *as* evidence. It's impossible to assert the truth of something based on faith. That one has faith in something means nothing - evidence is the only relevant thing when trying to discover the truth.

  • ok, but you're making a circular argument by simply restating your "truth claim," you know, the one you previously denied making, namely evidence good, faith bad.

    but isn't it ironic that you have *no evidence* to support your "truth claims," namely;

    a) "it's impossible to assert the truth of something based on faith" or

    b) "evidence is the only relevant thing when trying to discover the truth."

    it seems you're belief in "evidence" as the sole arbiter of truth is based solely on faith.

  • You are completely misusing the word faith. The definition of faith is:

    1. Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing

    2. Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence

    3. Loyalty to a person or thing; allegiance

    4. Secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of God's will.

    5. The body of dogma of a religion

    6. A set of principles or beliefs

    You are using 'faith' to mean a *reason* for believing - faith is belief *without* reason.

  • bro, i think you lost your bearings a bit.

    if i ask,"why do you believe in x?"

    and you respond, "i believe in x because of y"

    then "y" is the *reason* you belief in "x"

    substitute

    x = jesus and y = faith or

    x = global warming and y = evidence or

    x = evolution and y = science,

    in each case "y" is the reason for believing in "x"

    your assertion that "faith" can't be a "reason" for someone to believe a thing is not only obviously false, it's not even moderately sensible.

  • I dont respond well to spooky behavior.

  • I believe that journalists have a resonsibility which involves protecting people against themselves. When needed. This is an example of when that didn't happen.

  • Maybe his frickin' ipod went nuts because the dumb ass brought it into the bathroom while he was taking a shower. It's called moisture mixing with electronics...it's not supernatural.

  • lol you say this and you call HIM the idiot.. its not the water its the particles in the water.. the shower wasnt the culprit

  • Pfister the friendly ghost is the friendliest ghost in town

  • Hey, nice its Mike Cameron an ex-met. I liked him as a Met. Very interesting video and really makes you think if ghosts are real or not which I think they are.

  • as a brewer fan i absolutely love mike cameron.. hes not the greatest offensive player but it seems like there is never a ball he cant get to and hes a great guy off the field and in the clubhouse

  • Yup. He is a class act gentleman. I wish he were still with the Mets. We have Carlos Beltran who is a good guy and known for his offensive prowess but is not the same way as Cameron. Doesnt have as much influence in the clubhouse or off the field as Cameron.

  • cool
