    Indonesian Badminton legend..

  • "King" Kenny Dalglish...

    Lim Swie "King"....

    YNWA

  • i wonder...if he use today's racquet how will be his smash like...

  • "King Smash" indeed

  • he jumps up to his waist!

  • i want that hang time

  • wow LEGEND!

  • @honchi99

    Can u do that? haha

  • he is airborne already ready to take off

  • holy f*** even though the match is so old:O

  • indonesia indonesia indonesia indonesia hidupppppppppp

  • tekan 3 byk kali.

    dah mcm main tembak2. haha

  • its liem swie king or jackie chan ? lol

  • Pause at 0:21 ...holy shit!

  • the legend of indonesian badminton!

  • Yes.u are the godfather and legend..of indonesian

  • Yes, he is the godfather of power smash...King Smash .

  • back then that smash was the best smash you can possibly do. Wonder how fast it'll be with today's racquets.

  • Lol wow, that's a high vertical

  • the hang time was insane ...

  • the hangtime in de air for that smash ... OMG ...

  • the godfather of Power Smash

  • The air he gets is unreal! Wow!!

  • @jonisthebest99 his head is probably aerodynamical

  • Insane vertical!

  • I love his aggresiveness.

  • that jump is very high! :O

  • big smash is all well and good. i'd much rather have that solid underarm baseline to baseline backhand clear!!!

  • This is what Liem Swie King is known for, his very powerful jumping smash

  • INDONESIAAA!!!

  • Indonesian Liem Swie King is the best!

  • I liked him so much, I remember buying a green Yonex Cabonex 8 to copy him. Even his style of play.

  • @NellyJamba i did the same thing in 1982. I still have my carbonex 8 to this day.

  • Oh my goodness, look at that vertical!

  • he's like a boxer that plays badminton and can jump over buildings!

  • This is just stuning... I'm now wondering whose smash is more killing...? Liem, Fu or Tan...

  • @g0297497k

I Think its fu and liem

bcoz Fu's smash is almost 300 in every game and liem's smash is ,well sort of fu also

  • Fantastic smash. One of the best smashers of the world.

  • I love that "jumping smash" is "jumping smashu"!

He broke his string with that smash... if he was using today's equipment there would be no point even trying to defend it; just lie down and hope it doesn't go through you...

  • Also the racquets have changed allowing the shots to be more controlled and powerful, back in the late 80's the rackets would have been much heavier etc...

  • @honchi99 so what?he's no KING

  • @honchi99 Tan Boon Heong's "record" is fake, done under lab conditions by Yonex, not radar gun in a competition.

  • @ParagonAX not fake but under different condition AND measuring technique. It should not be compared with radar. Comparison must be the same, apple vs apple.

  • @ParagonAX How about I get you a "lab product" by Yonex while what you have to do is just to show me a 250km/h shot.

None of us have the right to deny the fabulous LSK' s trademark shot. However this doesn't mean that you ought to criticise on others' accomplishment which you or even the other world class players cannot achieve.

  • @ParagonAX not only bogus but useless lab statistic, that's why in real life, it doesn't get him win many games.

  • dude that was like a whip

  • No it's camera trick

  • @worldpeace32 not a trick .. its a real one

  • LSK is the guy invented this .... now simply called Jump Smash.

  • he did it in a test under different circumstances.

    get ur facts right pls

  • Personally I dont like if something called a record if It's not done in a proffesional match. Anyway this is Liem Swie King, the original inventor of jump smash that almost every pros right now does.

  • it stops buffering at the time he jumped....thats nuts he must have flubber in his shoes!!!!!!!

  • @honchi99

the thing is. King's racket is heavier and less powerful = lower tension and less flex. we don't really know if his smash or Tan Boon's is faster because of the difference in technology.

  • well it obviously is fast. xD

but you have a good point. it's hard to compare his smash to a modern day smash.

  • pause at 0:21 criss angel levitation!

  • @shimickey nah... angel can only levitate when you see it from behind!

  • hes tall and with that jump he created a strange angle.

  • The final or what.

  • Pause at 0.08, see the height LSK jump for the smash...amazing...

  • Fu HaiFeng a good smasher too!

  • i watched this clip over and over times never gets bored its just awesome how LSK smashing is.

  • he used a forehand serve in doubles?

  • hm.. OK

    but

LSK damage the racket's string li yongbo, Twice in one game.

sorry, but I forgot the year

  • he's created jump smash, my father said...

    really fast smash

  • LSK is the creator of badminton Jump smash!

  • Yes, that's correct.

  • wow , even better than lindan's smashes

  • *phew* he really looked like a mad bull

  • That is some serious air! Just hear the whip sound, perfection! I'm trying to learn to do a jumping smash.

  • Awesome vid! Please post more LSK smashes :D
