@2cLaSsic1 Since when does a tornado need lightning? It looks to me like the air is flowing INTO the thunderstorm which WOULD categorize this as a tornado, not a micro burst. A micro burst is also very hard to spot and they do not last long. If you wish to pretend to be a meteorologist you might want to learn proper grammar first, and you see that key on the left side of your keyboard called Caps Lock. Use it.

Many Farms "Twister", No where near Chinle. Just the size made it look like it WAS near Chinle. More like a Whirlwind cuz no homes were over turned and no1 got hurt..thank God. Hardly any wind just hail and rain. BTW, im from Many Farms and seen the whole 2-5 min of this "Tornado".

This is what's called a landspout tornado...similar to a waterspout, just over land. They tend to be weaker than a typical tornado (F0) but stronger than a dust devil. Here in Arizona we average about 3 tornadoes a year, so while it's not an everyday occurance, it is still rare. Thanks for posting this Joey!

A sand twister or "Dust devil" doesn't go up to the clouds, let's make that clear. Once the Vortex hits the ground (either noticeably by the funnel (dust shroud) or just by the debris cloud) It's classified as a tornado. As you can see from the beginning of the video the "vortex" aka Dust shroud is from the cloud to the ground in a beautiful and rare bending stove pipe tornado :). Beautiful yet deadly! But keep in mind they can form anywhere as long as conditions are ideal
