Actually, Asian elephants are notorious drunkards... and a few of them have even developed a habit of specifically raiding village liqour stores/storage to get at the drinks... this often times results in the partial destruction of said village, as several drunk bull elephants tend to break stuff.

I had a similar situation with my black lab Hunter when we were taking tabs off old pop and beer cans to give to the ronald mcdonald charity and he comes by a apparently loved the smell as he wouldn't stay away from the cans, so we dumped whatever was left in them which was very little and he lapped it up and the next thing you know he has a silly grin on his face and can barely walk straight then he trips and passed out for a long time before finally regaining consiousness.
