Still remember this all these years later.Well from 2001,on a VH1 Arsenio special. Its one of the best performances,God,they make me wish I could sing!
@Vaswang, this was the Arsenio Hall show. This was right after their MTV Unplugged Uptown. Their parents were in the audience (Mary J. And the Hailey's) but it's not shown here.
i believe he said he didnt no the lyrics beacause its a tribute for him he was seeing if the new generation now his lyrics cause he open the doors ....GENIUS
I think Mary was caught up with emotion at 3:23, which she had to stop singing for a few seconds before she was able to sing with the group again. You can actually feel it if you put yourself there. I think this song touched her personally, since she struggled with drugs early on in her career. How great was it that she was able to sit next to an R&B icon and sing a song that related to her personal experience.
I remember this arsenio hall i was in the 10th grade it was fly i also remember an episode of a show that use to come on jodeci went against boys to men jodeci sang end of the road and boys to men sang forever my lady it was a tie.
Great tribute with the man himself. But i have to say that sometimes singers rely too much on melissima for every line. This tends to bury the emotion of the song inside the trappings of an overused device, rather than release it. I think someone like Luther is a good example of someone who used it with taste and with respect for the song. It's good to know when to hold back and when to let go. My respect for Mary continues to grow as she has grown, personally and professionally.
jodeci need to remake this song, put it on there upcomin album.i love it.K-ci and jojo is bad together, they can blow.thiz brought me too tears.very soulful
@rametep100 amen! DeVante is a severely underrated musician in his own right - declined yet advised by his royal badness Prince to learn and play his own instruments...
cheer up mary
