MCR is emo. Emo isn't bad. Sunny Day Real Estate basically created the genre (or at least made it more mainstream), and they're fucking awesome. People put such a negative connotation on the term "emo" when it comes to music. MCR's music is emotional and it also tends to have darker themes (often about death, such as is the theme for TBP), but that isn't necesarrily a bad thing. I wish they'd stop denying it, because they pretty much are an emo band, but that doesn't have to be bad.

He poured all his thoughts about Mikey's health and his anger and his worry into the song with help from Ray and Famous Last Words was the result. When Mikey heard it he fell back in love with his band and rejoined.

He has to sing a lot of notes and volumes all over the place. It's isn't like playing an instrument. Sure your muscles get tred but you at least have resting points in music. Gerard sings almost constantly through out the music. Just my thoughts though. He is nrmally really good.
