I mean, this thing of doing the grey havens-scene over and over sounds horrible, but think of stage actors for example, you know, what I mean? They have to do the same show like every night and is has to be always magical, it has to always seem like they're doin it the first time! And this is really hard. Okay, they know that from the beginning and so it's no disappointment to do it again...further, you always get a new chance to do it even better! And so, this scene is perfect on screen!

That bit never made it into the movie. Those few scenes you see here of orcs attacking hobbits were used in film 1, when Frodo looks into Galadriel's mirror and sees Hobbiton under siege and the hobbits chained and being forced to work in a mill.

As for the Grey Havens bit...I took acting lessons back in high school and I can definately say that it really is SO hard to cry on cue and make it look believeable. So hard.I can imagine how frustrated these guys must have been...but they pulled it off beautifully.
