We'll even Ricoh is a good Company if you look at the Compact Series (Caplio R4, R5 -> R10 etc.) I have a Pentax K10 myself and i would love to have a K5 because the Quality and Functionality is just perfekt! At Canon & Nikon you pay a much higher price for the same Specs.

It's the best APS-C camera on dxomark (like you said) and amazingly, it is tied

for 5th amongst ALL cameras. It is tied with a $5K camera and the rest above it are $7.5K or more, I think. That is pretty incredible.

You apparently haven't done that yourself. At 82 points, the K5 is rated two points above the D7000 and others.

Which makes it the best APS-C (crop) D-SLR in DXO's ranking. Certainly, the camera has flaws, but so have all other cameras in this sector. Funny how you claim to be a pro, yet engage in brand wars and support your flame by evidence that is actually contradicting you.

Your Joking right? In the real world the k7 and K5 are useless. I have both.. (And I also have a k10d) I have plenty of DA* glass to go with it on top of that. I have No idea what they used to test the noise but anything above iso 400 starts looking like junk. To even top that off the glass options are crap compared to what you can get from other brands.

It sounds to me like your K-5 is in need of servicing. I shoot ISO6400 portraits quite often with mine(in RAW) which clean-up as good as ISO100.

Ex: bertin . ca / tmp / IMGP6297_SM_PP.jpg <-remove spaces

As for the glass, I am quite happy with the overall optical performance of the limited lenses. However, since I rarely shoot above 250mm I am quite satisfied with the existing lineup.

PS. I sold my D700 in favor a K-5 kit for its size and performance.

K-5 only goes up to 25 burst.
