  • you do not subtract 10% you divide it by 1.10 or times by 1.10 to add tax that way the result is the same either way based on 10% tax rate substitute 1.2 for a 20% tax rate etc...

  • If i substract 10% from 8.8 I will get 7.92 and not 8. because 10% of 8.8 is .88 and not .80! Or is there a difference between scientific and financial calculator?
