@Grubbernaut ~lol...yeah. Old video from my old PC. I run Firefox now. Craigslist has changed it's format slightly, as well. I left the video up because there's still some good info on it. ~Peace, JTC.
@JeffTheCanuck2 I'm just giving you crap, haha. However, I do have some real questions; where can you get the used motor oil or transmission fluid? I may be getting a BOV soon, but it'll have to double as a regular-use car, so I need a steady fuel source. How do you keep yours running?
A great website to use for running searches on CL is called Craiglook. It searches ALL Craigslist sites, or you can specify within xxx miles of a location (up to 250 miles). Additionally, it will allow you to save up to 10 searches so that you don't have to reenter the search criteria each time. It's a lot better than having to keep running searches on multiple CL sites in your vicinity to find what you want!
Hi jeff ive used a landrover discovery 2.5tdi turbo, paid $500 for the truck 1993 another $500 to rebuild, new rear floor, 2" lift springs and shocks, inner wheel arches, roll bar/cage & bulkhead, van volt bolted down,in rear seats stripped out led low volt lighting bars, still has dicky seats for 2 adults took 6mths todo you & gary were my inspiration be safe
Just be careful if you live in a very cold climate, i was reminded of this, this winter when i was up in the Pyrenees and it took me 3 hours to get my vehicles started. I had to use my camping stove under my oil sum for about an hour and open up my bonnet so that the sun could heat up my engine, it was running on two pistons for awhile and ran like an old Lister diesel generator instead of a Nissan Patrol LOL.
Can you pick up VW syncro vans in the US? they are great, a 4x4 van.
Been driving Diesels most of my life now and find them to be alot cheaper to run because the engines are usually better built, the clutch, gearbox stronger and of course you have the ability to run on your homebrewed fuel.
when i lived in England i ran a Toyota Hiace van for five years of 50/50 (disesel/cooking oil) during the summer, now that i am back in Spain my Nissan Patrol runs on 50/50 for about 8 months of the year and unless i go to the mountains,25/75 during the winter

Why would you not recommend GM diesels?

For those who have contacted me: You do not want an electronically injected vehicle.
You want mechanical injection with no computer for many....reasons.

@stuartsbushcraftblog -VW didn't export the diesel syncro 4x4 to the US.
Some people convert gas syncros to diesel with used imported parts.
Fuel tank $500, 1.6TD and 5sp $2500, (spendy)

@JeffTheCanuck2 Thats a shame, those VW syncros are the business
