  • I love the idea of a collaborative network of musicians and artists that lean on each other, live together, write together, tour together, hang out together. And they all share qualities, but at the end of the day you can pick each one out in a line-up. AND they're all from the same town...

it's almost exactly like New York in the 1960s and 70s, but in Sheffield in the 2000s. Don't tell me that collection of weirdos wasn't trying to get famous off one another.

  • I had so much respect for this band before i seen this video!! No Soap is one of my faveroute songs for awhile now... This gimp, what the fuck like??? got this great attitue about not being signed coz of some moral high ground!! more likely coz your a complete nob!! They say never meet your heros coz you'll only be dissapointed. in this case its never watch your heros on youtube.. I had high hopes for this band, but judging by this looser I wont see much more. Pity

  • I don't get it. He's saying that he doesn't like the fact that people at gigs shout regional stuff like 'sheffield' and 'yorkshire' but nearly all the artists that he hangs around with and makes music with are from the sheffield music scene ???

  • ayll ave the dog end mush

  • John mcclure reminds me of a funky john cooper clarke.

  • he is the best man in music today: 1 of the best lyricists, hes doing gr8 things in politics and he does gr8 interviews

  • shithouse id love to disagree with you about them being forgotton about in a year cos its true but their not shit now

  • Comment removed

  • what about him is a cunt

why is it a bandwagon band that will be soon forgotten even though they are more popular today than a few years ago

  • The rev's music is revolutionary?

sleep will be lost over that one.

  • lol he is making a splif in the interview.

also dont you think the interviewer seems scaried. dont think he was expecting such a long in detailed answer

  • haha XD

  • Good on him, The Reverand is a legend, He talks sense to.. His tunes rock...

  • Agree with what he says about "What indie music is" :D

  • went to go see them in concert in camden for the nme awards and went to the vip party after!! Hes soo nice and i luv there music

  • He's like only real beat poet we got. I met him once. He were sound. It were back stage at Leadmill. Surrounded by girls. Right fit ones. He kept brekkin wind cos he dont care bout celebrity & finacial matters. Proper rock n roll. Said he could play tunes. Did one maybe jammin' by Marely, but Im not enuff of a musiscan to tell. He were roling a big one like here too. Proper Irie! He were born on same day as marely died. Some say his spirit transended into Rev & thats were the poetery comes from

  • that's pretty cool!haha :-)

  • i met him he was nice :)

  • "Q: One thing we heard was that you actually got offered £150,000, which is a lot of money when you're out of work..."

Has inflation in the UK, in the time it's taken me to watch this video, gotten incredibly out of hand or is £150,000 still a lot of money even if you're IN work?

  • Hmm... this is very true indeed. Something I may have overlooked! Didn't I say especially?

  • If this 'collaborative' thing that he does is so special and sets him and his band apart from everyone and also means that there's no egos involved, then why is he the only one that ever does any interviews? Don't his 'collaborators' have something equally valid to say? Or is he talking bullshit?

  • i think your talkin bullshit pal. hes the one that dos interviews cos its its him wot does the colaborrating?

    Morron.

You see why hes givin his next album for free like radiohead and that now. Morrons like you.

  • So rude the way he's rolling that cigarette the whole way through.

  • thats no cigarette pal! Are you thik or wot? is a fookin J!

Your the rude one. No wonder he has to give his record out for free like radiohead and that now. Morrons like you.

  • why isn't he looking at the person that interviews him? seems rude! I love Jon but wish I hadn't seen that video! Am I exaggerating? :-S

  • He seems too cool. Paying attention to his cigarette only.Wish it's a radio interview...

  • He is well cool. The Rev! Lonf Liv the REV!

  • its not "jon mcclure from reverend and the makers" its jon the reverend and his band are the makers

  • get over it.

  • i love hoe it REALLLLYYY glamourises morecambe.

i wish i had the jobs of jack wild and hannah farrell.

  • well, morecambe is a classy town.

you can't have our jobs... but when we're famous you can say "yeah, Jack Wild and Hannah Farrell, I know em, they're alright... not too much of a big deal. Y'know, I'm not fussed. BUT I KNOW THEM!!! JACK'S BEEN TO MY HOUSE!!!!"

  • OMFGz this guys has like totally been to my house!!
