  • I think it sounds totally ridiculous that Fiat Uno can be used in some sort of "conspiracy attack" against S class Mercedes (which is 3 times heavier, faster, and has twice acceleration of Fiat Uno).

  • WOW!!!!! I guess the best way to commit suicide is to set your car on fire.

  • it was an accident

  • Diana's sons know what any sensible or reasonable person knows: she died in an accident caused by the Al Fayed organisation. They find persistent raising of conspiracy theories grossly disrespectful to her memory.

I think it's a vile allegation to accuse committed medial professionals of deliberately not doing their best to save her. Help was made available as soon as they cut the car open, stabilising her at the scene and transporting her in a way that didn't put her in greater danger.

  • No it was not the car (Fiat) that caused this wreck.

It was excessive speed and being 3 times over the legal limit for drinking and driving.

Even if (the flash of light ) happened,

The crash would not have been that bad if there was not excessive speed.

  • Thanks Paul for pointing out what's so clearly to yet so cynically obsured by people with improper motives.

  • @tribecatom thank you ... Facts are facts and mAy "The Peoples Princess" rest in peace...

  • "They were able to establish that this was a minor scrape, a glancing contact that wouldn't have deviated the path of the Mercedes significantly, it's just a brushing contact". Have you seen the long, deep scrape on the Mercedes? That doesn't look like a minor contact to me. 4 tons of Mercedes or not, any contact with a vehicle at 60 mph is likely to affect the car's stability and the driver's reaction to the contact. What's this? I'm in a big Mercedes I can plough through anything unaffected?

  • I disagree, it was a just a glancing contact, the Mercedes was going so fast that if anything, it was a greater threat to the Fiat and the other road users. I've seen the scrape and it's just a line of white paint.

  • If Henri Paul was not a qualified chauffeur, surely Mohammad AlFayed should have been charged with corporate negligence? Henri Paul was speeding to outrun paparazzi. If the party was not trying to avoid them, why try to sneak out the back of The Ritz with decoy cars at the front? When that plan failed, plan B said floor it. 1h 43m to travel 3.8 miles is an average speed of about 2mph. This incompetance virtually guarantees death. AlFayed nver saw Diana's body - he wasn't family for a start.

  • @TheTotalRecalls They wanted to be photographed leaving the Ritz. Diana struggled with an addiction to her fame, as did Dodi. They exposed themselves to the press SO many times that evening when they very easily could've ordered in the finest food in the city to the comfort of the Presidential Suite at the Ritz. They made so many choices that would seem so irrational if you were hoping to be left alone. None of this, of course, changes the fact that Al Fayed and Henri Paul are to blame.

  • The Val du Grace military hospital was nearer than Pitie Sal Petriere and they had a surgeons who could have given Diana the treatment she required.

  • I'm not sure if that is correct however it has been established through many investigations over many years that Pitie Sal was the designated hospital for treating injuries of the type Diana suffered. Taking her elsewhere would have been like taking a crash victim not to A&E but to a burns unit or a cancer ward. They took her there for a good reason and imagine the accusations they would have faced if they'd taken her somewhere she couldn't have got the best possible care.

  • Several physicians argued that. the full extent of Diana's injuries could not be diagnosed fully within the SAMU vehicle-regardless of how well equipped it was.Until her chest was opened by physicians at Pitie Sal Petriere ,the extensive haemorrhaging was not discovered. By that time, all of her internal organs had been starved of blood for nearly two hours. Regarding the " glancing blow" it may have been a contributing factor in the accident. if It caused Paul to take evasive action.

  • I'm not sure who you mean exactly by these "several physicians" you talk about but I do know some professionals were paid by Mohammed Fayed to support his conspiracy theory nonsense. I do know that the time it took could be attributed to getting Diana cut from the wreckage, stabalising her at the scene. The ambulance then had to drive slowly because of her very low blood pressure. A second cardiac arrest would have killed her in the ambulance.

  • On the glancing blow, it was inevitable that Paul would have to swerve to avoid other vehicles on the road as he was driving at more than twice the speed limit. The presence of the Fiat near the mouth of the tunnel was nothing unusual. Evidence from a Transport Research Laboratory expert at the inquest suggested it is impossible to cause cars to crash in a pre-determined way. Check out the video of the run throughs of the tunnel done on a Saturday night on the inquests website.

  • The SAMU H-MICU is equipped with a full emergency department equipment and fully qualified "emergency physician". The philosophy is take the ED to the patient and it is likely that for a traumatic arrest an emergency thoracotomy (opening of chest) would have been done at the scene (as would have been done by a Pre-Hospital Physician on an air ambulance in this country). This is where the problem has lied due to the differing EMS system of "stay and play" as an experienced doctor is on scene.

  • Thanks for bringing a sensible and erudite contribution to this discussion. So many people ignore what's obvious and rational and dogmatically cling on to lies and false assumption.

  • It suppose to have taken like 30 mins to get her to hospital,Far to late in that situation.

  • I agree.. The ambulance bypassed three hospitals ..

There is an interesting book written by Jon King, an investigating journalist "Princess Diana - Hidden Evindence".. Read it, guys..

  • The ambulance passed hospitals that were unsuitable to treat her. They were not Accident and Emergency. To take her to one of them would have been as logical as taking her to a cancer or maternity unit. Many people sought cash in on Diana by writing a lot of nonsense both before and after her death. I suggest you read "Diana- The Last Days" by award winning investgative journalist Martyn Gregory who presents conclusive evidence it was an accident and the conspiracy theories are lies.

  • @tribecatom Not only that, but I'm sure you also know that French ambulances are as well equipped to take care of a patient like Diana as the A&E unit. There was nothing done in the hospital that wasn't started in the ambulance. It's a totally different system.

  • @TheHartlepoolgirl So the French paramedics were being paid by the British establishment to further their conspiracy to kill the Princess? And it was assumed nobody would ever notice this inconsistency? Yeah, you're theory is rock solid.

  • Murray McKay makes the point that a "brushing contact" would not have caused the Mercedes to deviate.Surely though, it is possible that if you are concerned enough about another vehicle's proximity , you might very well swerve to the left to give yourself more clearance and there is some evidence to suggest that Paul did in fact swerve to the left . To suggest that the glancing blow is not a contributory factor in this accident is to fly in the face of common sense.

  • I would think Murray McKay knows rather more about it than most people. To suggest that a glancing blow definitely caused the accident is obviously wrong as many other factors need to be considered not least that Paul was under the influence and his reactions would have been considerably slowed.

  • It was also raised at the inquest that a Fiat Uno was one of the lightest and underpowered cars available at the time so it seems like a very unlikely choice as an assassin's tool. Common sense tells you that a Mercedes weighing about a ton and going at more than 60mph is not likely to be stopped by a glancing blow to a slow moving Fiat that was less than 50% its weight.

  • @Certainly It would be ridiculous to suggest it would have no bearing on the course of the car. it can't be denied, though, that Paul was completely unfit to be making any sort of judgment, or to even be driving a car at all, let alone chauffeuring the most famous person in the world. I find it amusing that I've never seen it suggested that Henri Paul was involved in "the conspiracy", because anyone working for Al Fayed couldn't possibly be involved..

Al Fayed is a pathetic moron.
