  • it take the FDNY so long to get out there station, but my Vol fire dept can get out the door in under 45sec.

  • yea a minute is fast, IF you HAVE YOUR GEAR ON! our volunteers role in a minute with full gear on in 30 sec

  • and the response time also depends on the traffic 2!!

  • its amazing to see the different lay outs of fire trucks around the world. ima fire fighter in New Zealand and we have our applience layed out way different to those in NY. if theres any fire fighters from anywhere around the world who is willing to share stories and protocoles with me please message. thanks

  • they take so long to respond

  • a minute is actually pretty fast

  • In Hamburg we go out within 30 seconds but sometimes it depends on what we go out for...

  • Comment removed

  • @CRFallday But to some a minute is to slow.

  • cool

  • Engine 93 is housed with Ladder 45 and Battalion 13 not Ladder 43

  • Of course!!

  • @grisu95 how were you allowed to hang out inside??

  • @theone2225 I just asked the Chief for riding along...

  • assist mostly as first responders untill the buss :ambulance" comes thru and takes the patient and paramedics rarely come to fdny aid they come 99% time only for cardiac arrests

  • For ems its not really a protocol to wear ur bunker gear but ur required to bring them with u incase a higher priority call comes through but u do wear them in case u dont want to get blood or any type of fluids in your regular clothes . And to respond to the other guy Badchoicemade Fdny gets allways in first and cops are not trained in any medical emergencies besides esu only so there fore they could not keep them alike 2nd of all we just

  • what is engine 93 housed with.

  • Ladder 43 and Battalion 13

  • Ladder 45

  • Yes its Ladder 45, I hit the wrong key...

  • ahh- New York's Bravest

these guys are the best in the country

  • The world.

  • i do the same thing some times my self i put my gear in the truck get a beter response time u save lots of time and plus ems runs u only wear ur bunker pants thats about it if its cold u can wear ur bunker coat wich i do some times hhen it gets to damn cold lol

  • Why don't they put on their gear before they go in the truck? Thats odd if you ask me.

  • Depends on what thea have to do. They don't need heavy gear for an EMS run.

  • Ok. its just because Fire Departments in Denmark don't go on EMS runs. I'm used to that you have to have your gear on before you go in the truck.

  • Same in Germany. We also always wear our gear or put it on in the truck.

  • In Amsterdam most gear lies in the truck. So they dress up in the truck while they are responding.

  • how does the ems work in nyc?

  • If the Firefighters or police arrive first they can keep a patient alive until paramedics arrive, the Paramedics then Stabilize the patient so there is little chance they will die in the 4-6 minutes when they are transported to the Doctors.

  • they bring it just in case they do get a fire call or something while they are out.

  • when ever out of the fire house its a rule that they need there pants on and there gear with them

  • COOOOOOOOOL

  • wrong wrong wrong thats a 1 3/4 2 1/2 and 3 u cant have inc a 34 atached to a 3 buddy u should know 6 lenghts 12 then 8 and yeah it was a ems call no one likes them and more down ot the other guy fire man are not paramedics they are cfrd first responder required some of them are ems and some are paramedics by choice only on engines becouse laders do not go on ems runs any other questons u can write back to me

  • are you sure? it looks like 2-1/2, 3 , 2-1/2, and 4

  • fdny doesnt use 4 on the engines,

  • Due to budget cuts in recent years I believe they've cut at least a few engines down to 4 person staffing.

  • @firepower782 they cut engine companies and put in squads. In elizabeth NJ they have a 4 man crew running a rescue truck that is the size of the old FDNY rescues before 911

  • wow look how fast they run to get in the truck

  • EMS call the last call you dont want to get called to

  • looks like 1-3/4", 1-1/2", and 3"

  • 24on 48 off?

  • what is the hose size from left to right?

  • That is a lot of hose!

  • yea cuase they are a engine company not a ladder

  • estoy buscando a Marcelo DeMoraes se que es Bombero en N.Y. pero no se en que Cuartel . soy Bombero de Tigre. Buenos Aires Argentina

  • Super !

In America for all acsidents you have rescue group (paramedics ) , firedepartment (firemens ) and ambulance ????

I so once how came this 3 groups for a drunk guy also police was there .

    It's everytime like this ???

  • Yes, firemen are paramedics. So firemen will respond to medical, fire, and rescue scenes. Police respond to certain scenes especially drunk people.

  • F.D.N.Y. does not have medics on their rigs, nor do they even have that much medical aid equipment. Most are first responders, and CPR certified. There are a few guys that are EMTs but they do not have to be. They get a neat little EMT patch to show off their medical aid skills! lol

  • don't hate because they're not stuck running a line on some heroin overdose like you guys in CA. You can't spell problems without "EMS"

  • Just goes to show how much you NY guys care about your community. Get used to it because EMS is here to stay.

  • @fireusaf60 haha hate on EMS all you want man just know that the EMT's Paramedics are a big part of the Fire Services now most firefighters respect that, im sure your one of the guys that stands there with your jaw hanging open doing the "stare of life" ......

  • no not all CFD haz all FF/EMTS n ther own EMS CFD in CHICAGO but c ther EMs is ran by der FD an Staff

  • does the fdny use 2 and half for supply line

  • Obviously an EMS run or maybe even something like an investigation of some sort. I'm sure they run emergency to everything just due to traffic. What the hell is it with all these idiots that think every one should run to the truck on every call. Y'all obviously don't do this for a living.

  • no they dont work 8hr shifts. there is 2 shifts a 9 hour morning shift from 9-6 and a 15 hout from 6-9pm

  • Or it's not a run at all. Fireman go out of the house for countless things other than runs

  • This was defentely a run, but I don't know any more what the dispatcher said.

  • Nobody put there gear on which means it's most likely an EMS call. You won't find many firefighters running to the truck for those.

  • they work 8 hr shifts i think i will find out and its probably a non issue run

  • no they work like 3 or 4 days of a 9hour shift and 3or 4 days on a 15hour night shift...and then like a day or 2 off between

  • nice pushout........ looks good im glad it wasnt for me.......

  • they need pretty long. everyone is walking slowly to the fire truck :-)

A LITTLEBIT MORE ACTION PLEASE :-))))

  • they do it to save energy cause there probally not going to get home untill there 12hr shift is over

  • Yes, also, running puts your adrenaline through the roof.. you should never run on the fireground, so why should the station be any diferent.
