  • My mom, Norma Carson Newman, played trumpet with the International Sweethearts of Rhythm. Not sure if she was with them in '46. The stories she used to tell were always riveting. She passed in late 2005. I'm SO missing her today. Happy Mother's Day, Mom. I love you!

  • @Buddafight That woman was Vy Burnside on the sax solo she unfortunately died in the 50's in DC.She played with Charlie Parker so you know she had talent galore!!!!!!!

  • @MindfulBard these women were not integrated, they were mulattoes and octoroons. there was no integration back then. yes. those white looking women were black.
