I live in Columbus... luckily it isn't that bad in the part of town where I am in... but wow, this morning I looked outside and it was dry and the road was clear. Then 5 minutes later my street was flooded. After awhile people were canoing in the street. It was crazy... I'm glad I didn't live in the part of town near the hospital, though... Wonder if they got the birds in the glass enclosure out of the hospital? Hmmm...
I was in Columbus on 31 and 25th st. near the bridge and I was washed away by the water! 2 men came and saved me. There wasnt much water and then suddenly i was hit by a wave! I was so lucky that those men came and pulled me out of my car that was drifting away. They came in the nick of time because a huge steal/metal dumpster was floating my way! I was screaming and highper vintalating...a tree hit me before i got out though, it was floating debree
this is very close to where i live. i only saw the aftermath this evening when my family and i went down to martinsville and you could see the debris. it's amazing to see what it was like when the water was up.
Yeah they did evacuate those at CRH. Its crazy! I'v lived there for years and never seen the flooding this bad. The dam in hope broke at the lake too.
wow...I was watching the news today and I'm glad I don't live further south (and that I live on a hill). One of my friends lives in Mooresville, which is just North of Martinsville. That's crazy though. I hope we don't get too much more rain and everyone stays safe.
Wow thats insane!! You can't even see the road!! In martinsville on 37 it was a little more visible. I bet your glad you had a large car!!!! We tried to cross in a beetle and got stuck!!

It was a big surprise to everyone how severe this flooding was. Kind of makes you wander what else could happen eh?
We drove in to columbus to take some relatives home with us. They just told us their home was flooded.
We ended up getting trapped there. I didn't know how bad it was.
Had to go to a school for the night. Then the school flooded and had to go to another school.
I wish I had a camera to record the river flowing through the gym. It was 4 feet deep and had a current!

I'm from the Columbus area and its odd to see all the flooding. I've seen it flood before but not to the point of evacuating the hospital
