Knight Rider, Airwolf, A-Team, McGuyver, Fall Guy, Super Force, Lightning Force, even Green Hornet. Corny, but with a clear moral center, and bad guys always got what they deserved.
The remakes of Knight Rider and A-Team were too Politically Correct to match the old versions, although VIPER managed to capture most the old spirit...
In "real" life, KITT or VIPER would have to evade cops as much as bad guys!
@thehappyfella yup, you were born 15 years too late; I was born in 88, but by the time I was 5, all these shows were in syndication, so I basically watched all these shows in the 90's (My Dad was a huge fan of all these shows, so I always sat with him and just watch these shows with him)
Loved this show when I was growing up. I wanted my own KITT when i got older. Many years later, i bought a black Pontiac Grand Prix and added details on it similar to this 1980's Trans Am
They so screwed up the remake. KITT didnt need to be a muscle car, they should have stuck with the same basic look but just updated certain aspects. Also the should have made the series an ongoing thing. the could get into the silly aspect later. Ruined.

Now, I watch practically nothing. Anything that's good gets canceled. Everything's about reality now, nobody has any imagination.

Similarly: “This is not your mama’s Pontiac...” comes to mind since Richard BASEhart (279-03-2105; Wilton KNIGHT) narrates the opening and died on 9/17/84, two years before the series ended.
