  • What good is private insurance if you have no control over keeping it? Foolish, selfish citizens wait until it happens to them - THEN they want reform. What if the car insurance only covers your car until you take it out for a spin (then you need "driving insurance")? The industry only wants insure the healthy. Screw the sick!

  • GOP's New Slogan: "Fuck everybody but me."

  • Even Bobby Jindal recently came out saying Republicans need to start being FOR something. All the slow down talk is for people who refuse to recognize we've been talking, but refusing to legislate since the Presidency of Roosevelt... Teddy Roosevelt.

  • I want the democratic party to DISOWN and stop promoting candidates who opposed the public option. Anything less will set in motion a third party that will EAT YOU. Opposing the will of the people like this is nothing short of TREASON.

  • This is a freaking JOKE. The insurance companies LOVE this bill. It will require all Americans to buy into PRIVATE insurance, since there is no Government Run public option. WHY would any of the insurance or health care companies want to stop this.

    Take the blinders off.

This isn't YOUR GREAT SOCIALIST Government run health care you think you want. This reform is corporate cronyism.

  • Republicans are scum.

  • Yep, Republicans are monsters.

But if the Dems pass a requirement that I buy insurance or get fined, and if there is no strong public option keeping costs down, then they will be monsters too.

If the Obama legacy after four years is a requirement that the struggling middle class pay for something they didn't have to before, while the rich bankers get a handout, then Obama deserves to lose.

  • You get fined if you drive a car w/o car insurance, why not health insurance?

All tho its not the greatest idea, it will get everyone insured so nobody is behind, which is the point of the whole purchase requirement.

  • That argument fails. Every living soul is not required to buy car insurance.

I live in a city and don't need a car, so I don't have to think about that.

The individual mandate will require every person to buy insurance just for being alive.

They talk about subsidies for those who can't afford it. You can be certain those subsidies will be cut over time; this will become a huge burden on workers.

And without a public option competing with private companies, costs will continue to rise.

  • Oh shit, you mean that the public option isn't in the bill??

I thought if you didn't sign up for the public option, and you have no insurance, you would be fined.

Well that just completely changed my perspective on this.

I sure as hell hope Obama won't pass a bill w/o the Public Option.

It is just a blow job for the Health Insurance companies if there's no public option in the bill...

  • @SubmarinerAndroid all we need to do is allow all insurance companies to compete in all markets, the democrats screwed this thing up. Either that or single payer. I don't know why they care what the republicans think of them, the gops are gunna hate the dems no matter what.

  • WOW... isn't it sad that most politicians are little bitches of corporations instead of representing the people of their districts???

  • Wasn't this "slow down" deal part of the play book that killed the last attempt at health care reform?

  • A fucking MEN!!!!!!!!
