This flick has a great story to tell. The Only problem is the Hollywood SNAFU in that every guy and gal is Perfect in looks. Not a normal in the whole bunch. Take away the Pretty Faces and they would have a great movie. It is hard to get pass the crap of Hollywood stereotypes. Even Bugs Bunny was closer to reality than these characters. The story line was a bit lame. But since the same story has been told over and over - I guess the Glitz of Hollywood had to take it's turn. Out of 10 ? 4

Remember the Dieppe Raid? The UK and Canada couldn't beat the Wehrmacht, even though the UK out-numbered Germany. Now remember Operation Overlord, were the Werhmacht out-numbered the U.S. and even had set up on 200 foot hills, yet the U.S. still took Normandy, even though they were in the epicenter of the battle.

On 29th July Jagdwaffe had 1107 planes (856 ready for action) and 1126 pilots (906 able to fight). Fighter Command had 814 fighters (587 ready for action), and 1200 pilots for them.
At 3.VIII.40 Germans had 1065 Me-109's (878 flyable) with 1118 pilots (869 able to combat flights), and RAF Fighter Command had 1065 fighters (708 flyable) with 1434 pilots.

And don't forget about Me-110's and primary targets for RAF guys - bombers (I don't anything about them, but there was a lot of this machines).

YES, RAF was outnumbered during Battle of Britain, wich was very hard test for British resistance, and this time was the most critical time for Great Britain.

Dieppe was a failure, but thats was due to poor planing had any soldier canadian, american or otherwise been charging that beach they'd be cut down.
Normandy was a joint effort and the allies way outnumberd the germans bady and the beaches were much easier to travers then dieppe.
