Ugh I know that pain. Broke my femur in November. November 9th. Playing football and got hit in the air and came down on it horribly. I will have to post x-rays cause it looks worse than most on here. Had a rod put in and 4 screws. They gave me the maximun dosage of morphine (10 units) and it didn't do a damn thing for me. I never got relief until I got to the hospital and they gave me other meds while putting my leg in a brace until surgery the next day. Gross

Or how did i know that tractions splints make someone feel more comfortable? because when a emt applies a traction splint, your basically pulling the leg/ bone to realign the leg basically, sort of like setting a broken arm but not because its just for the time being. If an emt doesnt do it the right way, they could have ruptred your femoral artery
