@05111605 Thats the AWS. There is a buzzer that goes off when you go over a yellow ramp type thing between the tracks. Also this dial goes from just black to black and yellow.
The AWS goes off when you are approaching a yellow (doube, or single) or a red. it's designed to make sure you are awake, and paying attention. if you don't cancel it within some really short amount of time the brakes are applied and the locos comes to a stop.
Hellfire vid mate i plan to do the same very soon, im suprised they didnt give you a bollocking for thrashing it up to 8 back in the days of there normal service it was seen as "Irrisponsible and dangerous" personaly i think its bloody good fun!
Mr Guntripp Sir, gave a HELLFIRE performance the other day with Slug 1!! But who was driving 418 on sat at the ELR before the beerex? He was a legend!! Best type 3 thrash ive had in ages!
Your vid is simply the 'CAININES GONADS'!! Heres a vid response of me driving 20069! I would love to drive a 37 with a rake of coaches to feel the 37 taking the load!

I've always wondered - in the cab - what's the round dial thingy, in black with the little inward facing yellow triangles all around it???

There were loads of flies in the cab when the loco was started up, and plenty of them where in the engine room aswell...

Yuck. At least you don't have bees, Yellow Jackets and Wasps. One our cannibilized coaches has an entire nest. We call it "Bee Hive Rail Car".
