That is not how you put on a heavy pack. The way you should put on a heavy pack to avoid injury or dropping the pack is to put the straps on to your body while the pack is still on the ground (you can adjust it after you are standing) and then roll onto your side and then roll into a neeling position face down and then get up. It works really well if your pack weighs 50lbs or more.
