"All traffic, please be advised: the cat has not yet vacated the runway. Those on final, go around; those on approach, execute holding pattern; those on the ground, hold at next taxiway sign or hold short of runway....
....Okay, the emergency services have just deployed a packet of Friskies and it looks like the runway will be clear in a moment.... hmm.... just a moment..... damn."
@aresenic14 next thing you know the cat was sucked into the engine; partially blowing it up, debris hits the wing and causes a hydraulic and fuel leak, which causes the engine to ignite, and then the wing to disintegrate, the occupants after having stopped safely are trapped becaus the brakes ignited when they came into contact with the fluids. And the pressure is building in the center tank to rupture, the rapid decompression in the center tank causes an explosion, and this is it...
LOL, a colleague of mine once had had a similar (funny) story: There was a Transavia flight taxiing back when he stopped for a hare on the taxiway, so the pilot radioed it in to tower and told the passengers about it. So while all the kids were looking at the cute bunny, the Bird control unit drives up, grabs the hare, breaks its neck and tosses it in his van. needless to say there were a lot of kids upset then...
@grantourismo0109 because you'd have to bring it many many miles away or else it would just come back and to do that would cost too much money (airports and airlines are very cheap)
@grantourismo0109 Well, that was because there was a disease going around wich affected rabbits and hares... once affected the most humane thing to do is to kill them...
@TehSmokeyMan fuck him that bitch... What about taking the bunny to a more secure place?? If i were passenger, formal complaint would be BEHAVE nice to animals!
@averredude101 They're just doing their job. I know it's a hypothetical situation but if the hare got sucked into an engine as it crossed the taxi-way or runway and damaged the engine beyond repair that would cost the airline millions to replace.
If those Bird Control guys let the hare go it would more than likely cause another obstruction so it's better to remove the problem permanently. At least they didn't shoot it, they culled it in as humane a way as possible.
You are Australian, right? A native English speaker. I was once translating between an Australian guy and an elder lady from Texas. Spoke the same language, but did not quite understand each other. The accent, you know. :)
