Mike has the ability to transition very well from a hook into his shoulder press (by far his strongest position), but he is not stronger in a hook. Devon is the strongest hooker on the planet right now. The only person in history that could match Devon's hook is an in-shape John Brzenk, and even then it would be close.

And as it turns out, Devon is stronger than Mike outside too. Mike's heart and that press got him a couple of rounds, but Devon's just too strong and too smart.

@MadoshiKatai I agree, if all the matches were in a hook, mike would have won, seeing how easy mike beat devon once it got into a hook/ shoulder roll here. He even managed to get 2nd win on devon in match 3 where he lost his hand but still was able to press devon down. devon was able to win because of his hand control, but I think mike is stronger in the arm than devon at this point.

130 kg is alot for todd's 6'2 height... come to think of it brzenk is the same height and his heaviest is only 107 kg... but he's already an absolute monster at that weight...

This 1st round was the biggest surprise to me, to see michael take devon's hand like that.. cuz devon usually doesn't lose his hand to anyone nowadays and michael isn't a known toproller.
